I swear I missed the whole her getting promoted when she gets KO, that is quite awesome.

Agree with everyone else the 100 point is awesome, 200 and 300 leave something to desire. I wish her SS was just normal SS as well. Can't have everything I guess.

Tweak Mind Control and Smoke Cloud.

I love that Jean! I don't ever intend to promote her b/c she just became Xavier's best bud in the starting area

Though if I did want to controlling the field with TK, and 4 range MC should not be too hard to do witha 9 attack.

I love the idea - but think about it:

A) You need to hit an opposing figure twice. She has to either be adjacent to the target or within 8 and have LoF to an object and a target square.

B) 16 Defense means she IS getting hit, no question.

D) You only get to place 3 objects - and you need a team that doesn't use Super-Strength to benefit from them.

Its a clever idea, overall, but "design" gave her Infinity Challenge type stats to pull it off.

Is it possible to change Marvel Girl into Dark Phoenix at any level? Yes.

Is it probable? No.

I think it would be fun to have a thread to hear all the stories of successful battlefield promotions and the Marvel Girl ones are going to be spectacular since they will be so rare.

Moving an opponent is enough to trigger her trait and get à promotion token. She does not need objects. And she hasba whole team to protect her if you play it wisely. I think this trait is ok except the error in wording (jean grey instead of marvel girl)

That really does look like an IC Dial on Marvel Girl. For a full dial of T K and from end Support, I guess 54 points is ok, but seems a lot for what you get. Dark Phoenix at 100 though, is thoroughly just wow. For less than twice the points, she's pretty amazing.

Who is MG hitting with a 9 att in this day and age? generic figs? Pogs? support pieces? Most of those will be towards the back, luring her towards danger. In this case, the hobbits are wrong, "The closer you are to danger, the further you are from harm." Not to mention, those same figs will most likely be able to hit her back and beat her down before she gets 2 hits off to even attempt the BP roll. I agree with others, she should have been better designed, maybe a 10 att, then 2 9's...

I quite like Dark Phoenix. Looks like the 100 and 300 are the most playable. The 100pt version will end up on a lot of my x-men teams. I'm a little disappointed in Marvel Girl though. Not because the clix is bad, for the points she's a great cheap TKer. But Jean Grey is my all time favorite super hero (i have the statues, action figures, even a tattoo of the phoenix emblem. Yeah im that guy). I was really hoping for more of a 2nd string attacker. A combat TK Non-phoenix Jean Grey. I remember when Manchester Black came out, those first three clix on his dial are along the lines of what i was hoping for. Decent attack, good damage. TK, psychic blast, and maybe a toughness/energy shield combo. Hopefully next year we get a new x-men set and the Jean Grey i'm hoping for.

what is nice is that she can attack a stealthed figure with an object. Some of those have lower defenses with no damage reducers.

For 54 pts on an X-men team you will get your points worth.
