Can somebody explain to me how an Ottoman Prince can be a member of the Knights Templar?
In the game's lore, the Templars become a secret society that is in opposition to the Assassins, and are aiming for peace through oppressive global control, while the Assassins support free will. Various turns of history and historical figures are thus associated with the group, but there is no direct religious connotations to the group, even though they started as a Christian organization, by the end of the Crusades (in the game at least), they worship only power.
Anyways, these seem like very solid and interesting Heroclix pieces, but they just seem to be too "Heroclixy," like a match between them is no real different than a match between Batman and Catwoman.
I would like to see more "AC" mechanics to the process, like characters like Ezio and Altair should not start out super mobile and active, they should start out with one click of plodding, but highly defensive stats, like they would have Super Senses and Shape Change, very hard to target, but would only have one damage and a special damage ability.
This special damage ability would allow you to make a close combat attack that deals 1d6, minimum 3 unavoidable damage, but in return if you deal more than three damage then you take one unavoidable damage yourself. That way, you have to creep up to the target very carefully, and if you do, you can really ruin his day, but if you attempt an assassination or push or do anything "unusual" then you break your cover and can no longer assassinate like that.
There should also be a lot more emphasis on counter attacks, like the Assassin team ability should be available in a much more reliable and stronger form, considering that Ezio can one-shot most enemies with his counterattacks, while direct attacks often take forever to wear enemies down. Instead of having 2 damage and Blades, he should have 1 damage, with a special ability that is Blades -3 (min 1), and then if you attack him and he makes a Super Senses roll, he can deal regular Blades damage and receive a token for it.
