In 2001 the question was asked: What happens if you break up the Justice League? Answer: You end up with eight Justice Leagues. This week in Comic Accurate, we take a look at some of those Leagues and remember how they came to be.
The plot to this miniseries/string of one-shots was fairly easy to begin with. An alien race wants to conquer Earth, but they want the JLA out of the picture. So they have their emmisary, known as "The Advance Man" set things up, with Hector Hammond's assistance, to make everyone forget the JLA ever existed (including the JLA members themselves). But Hector got wise to the invasion plans and tried to stop them. Since it's Hector Hammond we're talking about here, he failed. Only managing to subliminally get out half a sentence before he was interrupted. This message, along with an instinctive desire to fill that gap in their lives that was mentally removed, prompted eight members of the Justice League to each create their own team: Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Zauriel and Plastic Man.
So in The Advance Man's attempt to destroy the JLA, he just made more. Way to go, stupid.
Anyways, so eight different teams are created. Can we make all of them? Unfortunately, no. Like most DC clix teams, there's a bunch of folks who haven't been made: Mikaal Tomas, Black Condor, Black Orchid, Arion, Lori Lemaris, Devilfish and of course, 'Mazing Man. But there are still plenty that we can make.
Like for starters, there's the Justice League of Aliens. Martian Manhunter put together a team consisting of himself, Superman, Orion, Starfire, Lobo, Guy Gardner and Mikaal Tomas. Yes, I know I just said that Mikaal hasn't been made, but fortunately for us, he bailed almost immediately after getting there. So the problem kind of solved itself. Let's look at our build...

(Special) Blah Healing Factor Blah: At the beginning of your turn, as a free action you may heal Lobo of 1 damage. (Attack) Lazy DAWG: Lobo can use Flurry. Before the second attack, roll a d6. His damage value becomes the result minus 1 and is locked. (Damage) Hook, Line, and Massacre: Give Lobo a power action, and choose an opposing character within 5 squares and line of fire, and roll a d6. If the d6 result is higher than the number of squares to that character, you may place that character in a square adjacent to Lobo. On any result, you may then make a close combat attack.

Next up is Zauriel's team, The Justice League of Apostles. Basically a bunch of mystical folks. Unfortunately not enough to meet mystical generic keyword theme requirements, but hey, at least you get some use out of that Phantom Stranger piece!

(Attack) Possession: Give Deadman a power action and make a close combat or a ranged combat attack (as if he has a range value of 4) against an opposing target character as a free action. A successful attack deals no damage. Instead, remove Deadman from the battlefield and put him on his character card; the target is possessed, becomes friendly to your force and opposing to its owner's force, and any of the target's canceled powers return.
After the resolution of any action given to the target, you can release the target. Remove all actions tokens from the target and place Deadman in any unoccupied square within 4 squares to which the target has a clear line of fire. The target becomes friendly to its owner's force and opposing to your force.
If the target is possessed at the end of your turn, roll a d6 and add 1 to the result for each 100 points (or fraction thereof) of the target's point value. If the result is 6 or more, the target is released. If the result is 5 or less, deal Deadman 1 unavoidable damage.
Each time the possessed target takes damage, deal Deadman 1 unavoidable damage after the action is resolved. Any effect that can counter the target's powers can counter Deadman's Possession. If Deadman is eliminated or Possession is countered or canceled, the target is immediately released. Deadman and possessed characters can't be targeted by Mind Control or Possession.
This power cannot be cancelled.

Together, the Apostles are 597 points. I really debated using the New 52 Deadman over the Justice League one, but if I'm going to include a character with a zero damage, I'd rather have the 18 defense and Mystics TA.
While the other Justice Leagues had connecting themes like that they were all Aliens, or all women, or all from Atlantis or all mystical or even comedic characters, our next team didn't have much of a conceptual theme. It's Flash's lineup of The Justice League of Adventure. Where they're all superheroes. Way to think outside the box, Wally.

The Justice League of Adventure comes out to 372 points. Add on the Silver Age JLA to Atom, Flash and Canary; Armor Piercing for Flash and Running Start for Atom. That should get you closer to 400.
The last team we're going to look at is The Justice League of Arkham. Basically Batman opts to thwart The Advance Man's plans by recruiting a bunch of his enemies to back him up since the JLA don't exist. Apparently Hector Hammond must have wiped out Batsy's memories of The Outsiders too, since breaking his worst enemy out of an insane asylum is apparently easier than just calling up Black Lightning.

All together, the Justice League of Arkham come out to 498 points. Edward can take tokens of Batman or Joker as he helps them with some Enhancement, and if anyone attacks him, he can pass the damage to that awful Poison Ivy, who can still end up with a decent attack when it's chained over from Joker, Catwoman or Edward.
That's it for our look at some teams from the Justice Leagues storyline. Thanks for joining us. Next time, we head back to Marvel to take you to task.
Even though I've never read it, I've always loved this series for the team possibilities. Anything that gives me an Ambush Bug theme-y team is good in my book. (Where's my 'Mazing Man?)
I thought that was a very fun comic. Though I'm gonna' be That Guy and point out that technically I don't think we've ever gotten a version of Mister Miracle that isn't Scott Free.
I loved the Justice League of Anarchy.
Could we maybe please get a Negative Man figure, if it isn't too much trouble?
