Its not that hes horrible, but its very...eh. Not the Thor I would have liked to see for the 10A set. Loose the SS on the bigger version, ratchet some stats up, and you could have a winner.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
It's supposed to pay homage to Ultimates Thor as referenced on the characters card under First Appearance. Hence why it has a similar dial design and the Avengers Initiative team ability which basically IS Ultimates team ability.
I'm personally a big fan of the 200 point Thor, Perma-unoutwittable willpower is totally worth the 200 points. Swing range of 14 is nothing to scoff at either.
It sure does play homage to the old unique. I see why they didn't use the Ultimates Thor because he isn't as iconic as old school Thor is.
Both figures are really good. They look really good too. Though lightning should of been on both of them.
I'd have loved to see a 250+ point OMA Thor but I'm happy with the ones we got. I loved playing Ultimate Thor before my long hiatus and I'm glad to see a modernized version.
To all the haters who are sick of Thor: Too bad. Let those of use who enjoy the character revel in our options. I don't hate on your favorite character when they (re)make them - but that service can be done for those who are interested.
I play for fun. Winning is fun. Doing goofy things is fun. Playing with little plastic people along with friends is fun.
In total agreement with this. I'm "Thor-ed" out for the next five years.
On the whole, these are great figures, but they have some obvious flaws, the major one being the lack of important keywords like Avengers and Asgardians.
The 200-pt Thor should have NO clicks of 2 Damage. The Special Damage power is very situational and will almost never have any sort of dramatic imapct on the game. I would rather have no special powers on thos clicks and either cut 25 pts off his cost or boost that last click's Damage value up to a 4.
These characters are decent - and probably better than the Thor from Chaos War - but they aren't exciting. Even die-hard Thor fans have got to be getting sick of Thor by now. There's only so much you can do to represent that character. If they are going to make 10 versions of a character in one year, I would prefer they choose a character that has many different variations to choose from (like Spider-Man or Batman).

I'm still not understanding why we keep getting Thors that are always cheaper that the amazing HoT piece. Still good pieces though it would have been nice to see Super Strenght on that trait.

As a Thor fan I'm fine with more versions, as long as they have different abilities and more importantly, different point costs. And Thor should NEVER have Super Strength. Is he that strong, yes. Does he fight that way, NO! You never see Thor put down Mjolnir to hit you with a dumpster, period. Like a number of others have said in this thread and elsewhere, I wanted to see a 300pt one man army Lord of Asgard version (the version that handed Iron Man his ### when Tony tried to get Thor to register). Looks like I'll have to go GenCon and win the championship so I can design my own version.
With all that said, here is the version I would design if I won the championship (the 200pt version starting on click 4 would be for Avengers team line-ups):
Mjolnir: Thor can use Close Combat Expert. He can use it normally, or he can use it as a close combat action after using Charge. Lord of Asgard: 300pt version only. Thor can use Power Cosmic and has the Ruler keyword. God of Thunder: 200pt version only. Thor can use willpower. (200pt version starts on click 4.) For Asgard!: Thor can use Charge. He can use it normally, or he can be given a double power action to use Charge but does not halve his speed value if he doesn't use the Carry ability. Odin Sleep (300pt version): Thor can use Regeneration. He can use it normally, or be given a double power action to automatically roll a "6" for Regeneration. Warrior Born: Thor can use Invulnerability and Combat Reflexes.

This is a very good point! Hadn't thought of it that way before!
