If you've been following along you've seen my Gatecrasher's set built from Commons to Super Rares. Now it's time for the big catches of the set. The pieces that are meant to make fans drool to get them or rage because they can't. I'm talking Chase figures. Chase figures are so rare you only get one in a brick and that's if they hold to a format that gives you a chance. What would sort of chases would I make for my Gatecrashers creation? Well click that link, get in here and find out!

Into the Wilde!!

Speed Combo: Aurora and Northstar may use the Duo attack ability with Hypersonic Speed instead of the single attack. Blinding Flash: Aurora and Northstar may use Pulse wave as if they had a range of 8.
These two come in fast and swinging. Being able to hit twice before using up the rest of their movement makes it more accurate to the fact that two speeders just went by instead of one. Remember the two Flashes? I loved the sculpt on that piece but it just failed to represent two hypersonic speeders landing a thump on someones jaw while running by. Aurora and Northstar got it covered.
High Energy Duo: Havok and Polaris may combine Duo attack with Running Shot. If they do, they can't use any other powers for that attack. One can fly: Havok and Polaris may use the Flight ability but at -2 to their movement. Explosive Couple: Havok and Polaris possess Energy Explosion and Pulsewave. Dual Energy Barriers: Havok and Polaris possess Energy Shield Deflection and Toughness
Now Havok and Polaris are a duo dream team and I think I captured their abilities pretty well. I know I still have some wording issues, but the idea is there. I also represent that one of them has to be carried if the other decides to fly. It gives a nice option of movement for the piece if your stuck somewhere.
Holding Hands!: Fenris Twins possess Energy Explosion and Pulsewave.
Okay, so the Vonstrucker Twins aren't so great, but they still should be made to fill out Hydra's roster. They're useful and would be cool to see. And when I say they aren't so great, I'm talking about the characters.... cause they never were all that impressive unless holding hands. But here they are. And I also think there's an unwritten law somewhere that says every set is supposed to have a stinker piece like this one, so get your lol's while their hot.
Hard to Escape: Captain Britain and Meggan possess Charge and Plasticity. Brute and Shapeshifter: Captain Britain and Meggan possess Super Strength and Blades Claws Fangs Powerhouse Couple: Captain Britain and Meggan posses the multi-attack ability instead of the duo attack ability.
I wanted to bring out the ultimate capabilities of this duo. Captain Britain is a great brawler and Meggan has vast untapped possibilities. Between the two of them it could be hard to get away while they pound on you. Shapeshifter; great big fist; then shapeshifter again followed by great big fist. Get it? And finally a worth while Captain Britain.
Magik's spells: Colossus and Magik have the Sharpshooter ability. Only one has range: When Colossus and Magik use the Duo attack ability, only one attack may be ranged. Mystical Charge: Colossus and Magik possess Charge and Phasing Teleport. When they use Charge they may ignore all terrain and figure bases for purpose of movement. Mystical and Physical: Colossus and Magik possess Super Strength and Psychic Blast Armor and Magik: Colossus and Magik possess Impervious and Energy Shield Deflection
The brother and sister combo here make for a serious threat on the table. Colossus couldn't be in better form with his sister backing him up with magic! I would really love to see this piece come out.
Move and Command: Belasco possesses Mind Control and Phasing Teleport GET BACK!: Belasco may use Blades Claws Fangs and any damage from it does knock back. I knew you were there: Belasco possesses Super Senses, Invulnerability, and Combat Reflexes
If I'm going to go interdimensional and bring up Magic; it only makes sense to bring Belasco into the mix. "GET BACK!" is like having a spell of swords thrown at you mixed with Force Blast. Belasco can go where ever he wants and pretty much do what ever he wants. Then again, we can't have Magik and Belasco without...
Mystical and chaotic: Darkchylde ignores damage from the Mystics team ability Belasco's power: Darkchylde possesses Charge, Phasing Teleport, and Mind Control Belasco's defenses: Darkchylde possesses Super Senses, Energy Shield Deflection, and Toughness
Yep, Darkchylde. Only by taking his power straight from him was Magik finally able to help beat that demon sonuva... well you know. Not only do I think this would be a cool dial to play; but can you imagine what they could do with a sculpt for her?
And finally I saved the best for last. What you are about to see in a dial is insane however very fitting of the Omiversal Guardians, Roma and Merlyn.

Omniversal Guardians: Once per turn as a free action, Roma and Merlyn may select and opposing figure within range and line of sight. Roma and Merlyn may cancel all powers, traits, team abilities and combat abilities on the figure until the beginning of your next turn. Protective Magics: Roma and Merlyn ignore other figures Psychic Blast, Mind Control, Exploit Weakness, Perplex, and Support Where they need to be: Roma and Merlyn possess Phasing Teleport, Running Shot, and Mind Control They do what they have to: Roma and Merlyn possess Psychic Blast, Pulsewave, Energy Explosion, Quake, and Incapacitate Omniversal protections: Roma and Merlyn possess Energy Shield Deflection, Super Senses, Mastermind, Barrier, Toughness, and Regeneration Omniversal combat: Roma and Merlyn possess Outwit, Perplex, Support, Probablility Control, Ranged Combat Expert, and Shape Change
What? 500 points? Am I kidding? No. I actually plotted this dial out and tested it. It's sheer blazing madness and you need 500 points at least to take it down. You also don't want to see this pop up in your 300 or 400 point tournaments; no matter how many of you power players out there would love to punish others with something like this. These guys have spells powerful enough to relocate Galactus. "Huh, where am I?"
So I hope you've all enjoyed my 5 part series of how I might build a set and even what I would call it. I had a lot of fun making it! Until next time, keep on clixing!

i want this captain britain and meggan. pardon my newbness but is this a report on upcoming clix or a fan suggestion of things to be made, because i now have to have this awesome cap and meg fig.
The way to keep a super hero just the way you love him, is to create your own !

Not upcoming, just a challenge that I met head on in what I would make for a set. I was told.... if you can do better... bla bla and here it is! Be sure to look back at the other parts :D

I f Havok and Polaris get ES/D, should they really have a starting 19 Def? Seems kinda high for them, anyway. Admittedly I stopped reading X-Factor about halfway through their stint, but they were never "the most dodgy couple evah" or anything.
When super villains want to scare each other, they tell Joker stories-Trickster
Darkchylde: New Mutants
Havok & Polaris: X-Factor, Savage Land (not X-force)
CB & Meggan: Mystical
Colossus & Magik: I would give New Mutants, maybe even Acolytes
Also, while I think everything is going in the right direction, I would give Havok & Polaris something like a one-way pulse wave, kind of like what Nemesis from GSX does, hitting all figures along a single line of fire.
Those are some crazy dials. I'd love a solo Captain Britain before a duo figure. All that being said, they're fun for what they are even if I think most of the figures are under costed for what they bring to the table.
Also, as noted previously, Havok and Polaris need the X-Factor keyword, not X-Force.
I would also change Northstar and Auora's attack SP to when they hit with pulse wave instead of dealing damage they give an action token to all hit characters. There light powers were never dealing damage: they were a blinding tactic like a flash gerenade.
I don't know if you thought about this, but when Cap/Meggan can use Multi-attack, couldn't they use Duo attack for each multi-attack (thus netting four attacks a turn)? They'd only be doing 3 and 2, 2 and 1, or 1 and 0 damage without modifiers, but a little perplex/outwit, the right special object/resource or just good old fashioned Outsiders TA could make that broken.
