Prime figures are not a rarity. Think of it this way you have Rookie figs, Experienced figs, Veteran figs, Unique figs and now we have Prime figs. It is in the 2012 rule book. You can only have one prime fig on a force a variation of the unique rule.

This set looks great though. And even though we recently had a spiderman set this one promises brand new unclixed sub themes. Should be awesome.

Finally! With the new batman nomans land and the movie clix and all the batman bat-ons wizkids has been having, a chance for a definitive spiderman, as well as several versions. I seriously will get a brick of this. And I'm gonna whip the pants off batbrain. Ladies and gentlemen and fans of screwattack.com.... Its time for another Death Battle!!!(bats vs spidey. Watch it. Well obviously I'm a huge Spiderman fanboy so I'm super excited about this. I'll point out there are only so many characters that can both fill out a set with their supporting characters and rogues gallery AND be popular enough to get a large majority of fans to actually care. Batmans had a few sets now so it makes sense Marvels flagship character gets another set. A new 2099 and hope for a competitive and playable 616 Peter Parker Spiderman both have me hyped up for this set.

Normal 5 fig boxed sets come out every 3-4 months (and it has been this way for the past 2-3 years at least. not sure if its been longer, but that's when I got back in the game). Since Batman is in Nov, I did think it odd that there wouldn't be another big set till April. Streets of Gotham is a mini-set akin the Avengers Movie set with the theme packs and seems to be taking the place of a Batman gravity feed. If Wizkids really wanted money, there would be a seperate gravity and fast forces for Batman and Streets of Gotham. I am a collector with almost full sets of WoS through CW (just missing 3 white lanterns from 75th and Sentroid from CW) as well as most of the smaller sets in between; That wasn't easy to do, but isn't that what makes collecting a hobby and also gives your collection value (personally as well as monetarily)?

For those who cry too soon, Arkham Asylum had two sets between it and WoS, they both went out of modern age at the same time, we just got Dark Knight Rises this summer, and every single carded DC set (except for Crisis) had at least one Batman, and they all have Batman-related characters.

On another note, I echo everyone's excitement about the figs in this set, but Hobgoblin is the most deserving by far. We haven't seen him since Infinity Challenge (and those pieces stank then too). I can't wait to see a flame-sword weilding, lunatic laughing Phil Urich.

Why are people so upset that they're redoing Spiderman. They released WoS over 2 years ago. Not to mention that they're adding Monsters and Mystics to the set (I remember that there was a poll a while back where the overwhelming majority wanted a Mystics set...).

As far as Marvel goes, just about every set is going to be X-Men, Spiderman, Avengers, or Crossover Storyline themed. That's always been their formula. Idk why people still don't understand. The set after Spiderman will more than likely be a Crossover or X-Men set if everyone wants to start writing down their gripes.

Thoughts:

1) "Wild dials." Oh boy, another new gimmick mechanic- Because there totally weren't enough of those to keep track of...

2) I'm fine with another Spider-Man set. Even after WoS, there are still so many Spidey characters that need remakes- Lizard, Hobgoblin, Rhino, Vulture, Electro, and most importanly of all, KRAVEN THE HUNTER!!!!!! I will literally cry and throw a temper tantrum and possibly attempt to start a riot if there isn't a new Sergei Karvinov in this set.

3) A 2 figure OP kit? SERIOUSLY??? Both LE figures better have unique sculpts...

4) Is anyone else getting a little tired of these tightly themed character/team sets(Superman, Hulk, Batman, etc)? I much preferred the old days when sets had looser themes and a much broader selection of characters- pretty much every set had something for everyone.

5) No Fast Forces? BOO!!!!

Oh wow and look at that, just watched the Alliance Open House slideshow and the Marvel set after Spiderman is going to be X-Men centered. And the next event their running is Fear Itself, a Crossover Storyline. Hmm

What else are you (and others) expecting?

They want to sell, then they will sell like the comics. Marvel comics push:
Spider-man
X-Men
Avengers
Fantastic Four

Then secondary pushes:
Cosmic
Hulk

Only recently has Hulk been returned to being a centre piece of the Marvel lines in terms of events, and Cosmic stuff is awesome.

If you are expecting them to market outside of those main 4 themes much, you are in for a disappointment.

That's...lame.
