I'm a fan of Tim Drake, especially as red robin ( pre new 52 costume), but I just can't get a good vibe from this dial. Hopefully there will be another (better) version of him to do him justice.
Well... They can't all be winners from this set can they?
I definitely expected more from a guy that matched wits with Ra's Al Ghul while Bruce was "dead" and won, here's to hoping that the FF and CTD versions are better, or maybe there will be a common prime or chase version of him. If there's a chase I sure hope it has his older costume on the sculpt, this one is by far the worst redesign in the New 52.
I love LOVE pre DCNU52 Tim Drake. There have been many great clicks to represent one of my favorite DC characters. The new version of "Tim" (that isn't his real name anymore) in the comics sucks and so does this dial.
What an insult this dial is, such a waste of 80pts. There are 63pt figures from 10th anniversary set that are for better and more powerful. And its a major downgrade from the good ole Legacy version.....which is a SICK figure
I'm surprised no one has mentioned his flawed trait and TA. Thematically speaking, if highlander rules are in play, on either a Batman team or a Teen Titans team, Red Robin can never live up to his full potential, unless you "cheat" and use the DC10 Nightwing; Biggest problems are that there are no Teen Titans in the Batman family who he can utilize his TA with, and there are no Batman Allies on the Titans who he can utilize his trait with. Either way you spin it, he's got to play with Nightwing or you're paying points for aspects of a dial that won't be used.
Also, I'm beginning to grow tired of these cop out powers called "Trained by _____". Nearly every character that comes out has a power called that, and Batman and Captain America seem to be very popular trainers when they come up with them.

I'm sure WK doesn't design dials and points based on a rule that isn't official or commonly used.
This thread may set a record for most negativity about a preview. I am disappointed.
If this new Red Robin had a dial that made Nightcrawler look inefficient, I'm not sure if people would still complain or be super excited for the Red Robin cheese.
I know there is a happy medium, a balance, but not every piece can be hyper-efficient.
I think the sculpt looks great for a common. The dial is decidely not hyper-efficient, but I would still use it, because, you know, I play for FUN.
Just because a new piece won't win you a Gencon cheese-fest, doesn't mean that it should be so disrepected.
And by disrespecting the piece, you are also disrespecting the people who worked hard on it, from the employees at Wizkids to the creators of the character at DC Comics.
I don't know. Nothing can be perfect, but I just don't see the need for such outright negativity.
Batman & Robin will never die!
