Hey everyone for those interested in large-point games...this venue is having a 1000 point game next Wednesday the 24th! Silver Age...at least 8 characters per team! Hope some of you can make it if you're in the area. I myself drive an hour....NO EXCUSES! Lol
Today we kick off a new series that highlights great venues around the world, where members of HCRealms congregate and play the game we all love, HeroClix!
Fair Game has been as close to a regular venue for me as I can have. I work nights, but I manage to finagle my schedule specifically so I can play there occasionally.
Great atmosphere. Props to the comic shops I've been to that host clix, but this place is designed for gaming. Wide open floor, great lighting, even moreso since moving to their current location. To say nothing of the great staff and the exposure to other great games.
The judge and the players are very friendly to new players. There's plenty of in-depth discussion of the game, and also lots of brushing up on basics when other gamers browsing the store get curious.
Mad love for this place. I'm very fortunate it popped up in my home town.
Really nice article! I'd love to see our venue featured in one of these. Maybe I'll see if I can organize something.
I'm really surprised that anybody can say this anymore, even jokingly. You do realize that a woman placed in the top 4 at Worlds this year, right?
I do realize that. And I've gotten destroyed by female players in clix before. I was making a joke playing on both the sterotypes of comic nerds being unable to function with girls around and that girls don't participate typically in things like Heroclix. We all know that neither of these things are true. I respect the female player base. Really, I just wanted an excuse to make "A League Of Their Own" reference. I just watched (and cried to) it recently.
And besides, my post is more of a slam against the butt ugly, smelly, socially awkward nerds of my venue. If anyone should be mad it's those losers
No, just no, seriously, who cares? Her hand gestures and positioning doesn't even look like she wants to be there or in the photo.
Anyways, this is a really cool idea that I like and I can't wait for the next edition. I'm even thinking about doing my own venue, assuming someone else from there doesn't do it first. As for this place featured in this edition, it sounds like a fun place and I'm sad I don't live near
Great idea for a feature. Fun to see and hear from people that really enjoy their venues.
Thanks! We have a lot of interest so far ... so hopefully people submit their information and we can keep it rolling. I'm going to be putting together a venue list as well.
Very nice and very cool. Although I call shennigans ... like there's no crying in baseball, there are no girls in heroclix!
Well at least at my venue ... but to be fair, if you saw the guys at my venue and were a lady, you'd stay away too
I told my wife that the thread wouldn't get past 10 comments without someone pointing out the lady and crying foul. I should have lowered the bar, I guess.

I play here occassionally, and it is a great place to play. Its spacious, with plenty of room to play. There is always a good mix of players, so you aren't playing against the same people every week, and the people you play are always good sports. There is always a variety in the weekly scenarios. The only downside is that the intransigent Ref won't allow me to win Prize support just for thinking about showing up.
Come for the Heroclix, stay for the other Games!
No, just no, seriously, who cares? Her hand gestures and positioning doesn't even look like she wants to be there or in the photo.
Actually, that isn't true in the slightest. She actually plays more games than most of the guys do. She did have a headache that night, I believe, and though she wasn't playing clix that night, she was there playing other games, and if there is any sour look on her face, it's because I told her that she needed to get in on the picture. This is a girl that makes Gencon her vacation EVERY year.
