I absolutely love Ted, and the dial is solid, however the timing seems odd. If they wanted to give the Bug a boost while he's piloting it, why not just make it a trait on the bug and use this slot for another character? Plus now I'll have to decide between which Ted to bring.
Still a character I like that was made is always cause for celebration. Perhaps a sculpt swap is in order though.
I agree, there are many figs which could make better use of this slot.
I hope they do not take more slots for "dedicated pilots" for each of the vehicles, but I expect they will.....

I have not read a lot of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold titles, does Booster pilot the Bug often? I would expect the Bug to have additional pilot abilities for at least Beetle.

what a waste of space. i mean really. i hate to say this, but come on. why are there two ted korgs out?? just no reason for that! just a complete waste of a mold. the other dial is better, and the sculpt is better as well. i just don't get it!
I can't say I like him too much. Sure he's pretty cheap, and combos well with The Bug (which we'll be seeing soon) but I don't find his BB Gun too useful, especially since he doesn't have sharpshooter, and rightly so.
Hm. Neither version of Ted (or the NuBooster, either) has Super Buddies keyword. I hope WK isn't abandoning it. Eventually we may get a new Mary Marvel, Captain Atom or Elongated Man I'd like to team some people up with.
The re-write of the JLI ATA probably spelled the end of the Super Buddies KW. It was dropped from the card when ATAs switched from feats to their own play element. I imagine Mary Marvel may just be assigned the JLI KW in lieu of its absence; otherwise, it was a redundancy for most of the heroes who had it.
Looking good. My Justice League Watchman Team proceeds apace. Now I just need Captain Atom (Guy Gardner is my Comedian, btw). Will there be a vehicle for BB?
First Daredevil, Spidey, Cap shot, Bucky as Cap, Steve's back, Odin's back, Bucky's dead, Tony off the wagon!? That's it. Marvel is dead to me.

Check back tommorow.
Speaking of the Bug (confirmed and will be previewed tommorow), I really feel that we need to see the Bug to determine BB's value given the trait this Ted posseses.
There's a lot I like about this dial:

(Special) Beetle's Bug: When Blue Beetle pilots a vehicle named The Bug, modify the vehicle's speed and attack values by +1.
(Attack) BB Gun: Blue Beetle's randed combat attacks cause knock back, but the target reduces knockback damage by 1. If the result of the attack roll was doubles, double the number of squares the character is knocked back.
Good solid attack numbers and a great SP go along with this Vehicle trait. The addition of perplex is a good way to show his intellect, though outwit would have been totally in keeping with the character. But there just feels like something is missing.
Much like the 10th version of Ted:

(Special) Battlefield Promotion: Pass the Torch: When Blue Beetle hits one or more opposing characters, after actions resolve, place a Promotion Token on his character card. You may then roll a d6 that can't be rerolled and add 1 for each Promotion Token on his character card; on a result of 8 or higher, replace this character with D10A #009 Blue Beetle on the same click number.
Sharpshooter, EE, triple Target and 2 clicks of 3 damage.
If we could only find a way to fuse the two dials together, throw in a splash of outwit, merge EE with incap and give range attacks knockback I'd say we've got a perfect Ted.
Either way the SOG version will pair up great with the new Booster Gold and the Bug for a tidy 300pt team.
This Ted is very dependent on the Bug, so I'll reserve final judgement for tommorow after the Bug reveal.

Hrm. Not sure Blue Beetle should ever be able to give himself 20 Defense in close combat.
I like the character a lot, but for a guy who was shot in the head at close range, a potential 20 Defense seems waaayy too high.

Probably not the best idea to take one of the most poorly written comics about the character in the last 2 decades as the example.
Analyses of that comic readily point out that none of it makes sense except to advance the plot. One key one is the fact that Ted is very good in close combat, yet was unable to do anything to prevent himself being shot.
