Clix of Life: At 300 points on the team base you get 10 clix of life. Play Cyborg, Starfire, and Changeling for 20 clix of life total. So you can represent 7 characters at just 10 clix to live through as a single target or you can have three running around with a total of 20. Again, yes the Team Base has multiple attack ability, but you have to have targets in line of sight to shoot them or have them in base contact, right?
Just wanted to point this out as well:
300 Point base has 10 clicks of life
Cyborg, starting on click 5, has 3 clicks of life
Starfire, starting on click 5, has 3 clicks of life
Changeling, starting on click 5, has 2 clicks of life
If you can manage to get all 3 of them off the base quickly, your 10 clicks of life just jumped to 18. Still less than 20, but much closer than 10.
Five years later, I am still not sold on the idea of putting a team on a single dial as opposed to making decently-costed versions of characters with natural synergy.

Vehicles seem to.have better synergy with a pilot than these team bases. I agree with Ridge, we should get better seperate team members than the group stuck on a large base running around the board. Its just odd and who the hell thought that would be more fun than seperate team members? This combine mechanic has gone too far.
"No, Joker. You’re playing the wrong game. The old game. Tonight you’re taking no hostages. Tonight I’m taking no prisoners."

Still very risky as you have three characters not at their prime points on their dials. Their dials are good clear through, but 3 clicks is easy enough to be handed out more than once in a turn. Not that I'm blind to the strategic value of the matter. You can use those three to tie up targets and perhaps even do some extra damage.
