TV Cartoon Battles: Lightweight Division: Round 1, Match 6
Yet another very close and evenly matched fight, as two combatants of near superhuman agility, speed and reflexes battle it out to see who gets to advance to Round 2. Thus far Jackie Chan has the lead over Tarzan, but with days left to go, its still anybodys fight.

So without further adieu, allow me to present your next battle in the TV Cartoon Tournament Of Champions:

SHERLOCK HOLMES (SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THE 22nd CENTURY)

VS.

LEONARDO (TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES)

As always, same rules apply, no time to prepare, POOFed from where ever they were, with only what they routinely carry on them AND/OR routinely used in their shows, to fight in a Large area til one stands and one falls. YOU decide Who.

Randomly Chosen Area:

Army Training Base - Situated in the deserts of the South-West, this facility contains all manner of terrain to shape the fighting forces of tomorrow, or would be dictators. Rough barracks and communication facilities sit inside the main compound, which is surrounded by all sorts of climbing obstacles, barbed wire, and mud pits. Several clumps of rude concrete buildings serve to train for more urban environments.
(Inspired by: GI Joe and others)

Thanks all, and enjoy.

And REMEMBER, if youre not sure who someone is here, ASK. Theres PLENTY of people here who can tell you most anything youd like to know. Thanks again.

ALSO, please do your best to respect everyones votes, reasonings and opinions here. If you believe your character should win, but doesnt in the end, dont hold grudges against the character that beat yours, or call the votes that allowed this to happen "fanboy" arguments or plain and simply wrong. We all have our own way of thinking and voting here, with each one of our thoughts and ideas as valid as your own. Lets do what we can, even in the heat of an argument, to respect that. Thanks.

TV CARTOON TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

ROUND 1

Race Bannon vs. Iria: Race Bannon (19 - 14)
Scarlett vs. Daisuke Jigen: Daisuke Jigen (13 - 12)
Cammy vs. Thundarr The Barbarian: Thundarr The Barbarian (18 - 14)
Hank The Ranger vs. Ookla The Mok: Hank The Ranger (18 - 2)
Jackie Chan vs. Tarzan (Disney): Jackie Chan
Sherlock Holmes vs. Leonardo: ??????
Goodbye our beautiful dog, Pepe, who was such a Big part in our lives, and we miss him here more than I ever thought possible. We Love you Pepe.

Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) - In Splinter's absense, Leo is the leader of the Turtles, a real 'take charge' kind of guy. He is clever, a fast thinker and an excellent strategist, but his best attribute, perfectionism, also happens to be his worst because he always strives to do everything to perfection. He sees it as an embarrassment if he fails. He also feels the loss of face when the other turtles do something wrong, because he feels responsible for them and their actions. Though Splinter has taught him that it is honourable to fail if one tries his best, Leo can't accept his own short-comings. Despite the lack of self-confidence, Leo is perhaps the smartest all-round of the turtles.

Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century) - Sherlock Holmes was the world's first consulting detective. Holmes also was responsible for inventing and publicising many advances in the forensic sciences. We know of his activities primarily through his friend Dr. John H. Watson, whose articles made Holmes famous.
Holmes was revived in the 22nd century in order to help Inspector Beth Lestrade find and catch Moriarty -- another consultation! He is currently being retained by New Scotland Yard as a consultant, and apparently is making a good amount of credits that way.
Holmes still has a lot of catching up to do, but he has embraced the use of computers, hololearners, and video communication over the net. His Stradivarius does not seem to be in evidence (and heck! Did you think a Strad was going to be allowed to rot in a museum? And did you think that anyone, even Lestrade, could persuade a violinist to give one up?) but Holmes has adopted an electronic instrument which combines frets with a keyboard (EMPT2) and seems to be happy with it -- except that by TWIS2, he was still having trouble playing the rather simple melody of "Ode to Joy".
Holmes is of course an expert boxer and singlestick player and knows baritsu, but his primary martial art in the 22nd century is cane fighting. La canne really was practiced back in Victorian times as part of the French martial art Savate, which was folded into Bartitsu (and hence, very likely, into baritsu).
Holmes habitually carries on his person:
 a retractable/extendable cane (FALL)
 a magnifying glass (DERA)
 a futuristic flashlight (DERA)
Goodbye our beautiful dog, Pepe, who was such a Big part in our lives, and we miss him here more than I ever thought possible. We Love you Pepe.

Semi-Robotic, yes. But I don't think it's enough to protect him from a sword, especially when it's weilded by a very skilled person. And he's not a real fighter, or anything like that either. Leonardo EASILY wins this fight.

Hmmm...Holmes is deductive and can and will break Leonardo easily with just his words.

Then he's an expert fighter with his cane and he knows how to throw a punch.

Hell, Bruce Wayne as an 80 year-old fended off hoodlums with just a cane-pretty easily-And Sherlock is stronger than that Batman.

Let's not forget, if all else fails, Sherlock can offer Leo some opium.

Gotta agree with the majority here. Against the other turtles, maybe (though maybe not), but Leonardo is their best. Best fighter, best strategist, best Turtle overall for this TOC, so Im giving him the win here over Holmes.

Winner - Leonardo

With prep time I could see Holmes having a chance. He's going to be one of the most dangerous LWs in the team division.

But here he's going to lose. Leo has better training and better defensive capabilities. Honestly, saying that they land an equal number of blows who will be in worse condition - the guy with a shell who practices with his brother who uses a staff or the guy who is going to be getting cut up?

Leonardo to round 2.

Of course, but it was on Fox, you'd think they wouldn't.

I'm pretty sure he has a stash somewhere with him, and Leonardo does do the beach talk-seems a definate fit.

Definately good enough for a 30 second incap.

Holmes may be partly robotic, but he doesn't stand a chance. I'd give it to a normal Ninja with a sword, and Leo has an added advantage of a tough turtle shell. My vote...
