While our last two combatants were about as equal as they come, and most voters here noted as much, the overall votes leaned heavily in the favor of everyones Star Spangled Avenger, Captain America. Sorry Deathstroke, maybe you should challenge Cap to Heroclix next time, I see a definate nod in your favor then.

Now, on to our next, and last battle, for a while......well, from me anyway. (as Im sure most of you know by now Im going to be married a week from today, and while Ill be on HCR a bit between then and now, I wont be posting any further VS threads for a few weeks)

This one involves not only different characters than Ive done in the past, well most of them anyway, but a different battle scenario entirely. Team battles. With respect to the recent and popular JLA vs. XMen battle thread, I give you a slight change to that epic, though slightly misbalanced, line up and present: The JLA vs. The Heralds of Galactus.

Now while this same JLA demolished nearly every single team of XMen made, it was stated there that the only Marvel team that could hope to go toe to toe with them is the Avengers. While this MIGHT be true, a JLA vs Avengers thread has been played to death, especially in recent months.

So I though that even though they arent an OFFICIAL group, the Heralds do have a very common bond, as well as a previous Master, and while they are outnumbered here, they do have more than their share of POWER to balance the scales.

This particular battle involves the Main 7 JLA members, and the most popular 5 Heralds of the World Devourer, shown as follows:

JLA - Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Flash.

Heralds of Galactus - Silver Surfer, Nova, Terrax, Firelord and Airwalker.

Now while we all agree Batman might be out of his league powerwise, he has proven on more than one occasion, even against the mighty Terminus, how standing back and carefully observing could prove as invaluable in battle as brute strength and power.......BUT, is it enough against such an onslaught of Cosmic Might?

As always, same rules apply, no time to prepare, POOFed from where ever they were, with only what they routinely carry on them, to fight in a VAST arena til one stands and one falls. YOU decide Who.

I got go with the Heralds. Just on the Fact of Raw power. We dont get to see it, but the Surfer has power undreamed of. He was the first and best herald Glacticus ever made. I mean he can absorb energy from any star and cause it to collapse. and then take the energy and power him self up to well beyond Superman levels.

Heralds hands down. The JLA 7 are great, but against 5 characters wielding the power cosmic? No way the JLA wins. Heralds of G all the way.

yeah gotta agree with IronManI, the heralds are just to strong, 5 beings with the power cosmic is too much for the JLA even tho they work great as a team it would be too much for them to handle.

I don't know you guys, I think JLA will win with TEAMWORK.
Martian Manhunter can establish a telepathic link between the members and Batmans tactical leadership would prove a HUGE asset to the team. In JLA vs Avengers #1 The JLA beat Terminus (tons of raw power) with teamwork via Martian Manhunter's telepathic link and Batman's mind.

The heralds have power but so does JLA and they are famous for teamwork.

Batman is a non factor here. He wouldn't last at all.

Superman and the Martian Manhunter would do a LOT more damage than you guys think, though. They would be the last 2 standing for the JLA, and they would take the heralds down a few notches.

1 one 1 Supes can beat them, in a team vs. team fight, though, the heralds have it.

I have to agree. Teamwork is going to be a huge advantage to the JLA in this battle, especially since the Heralds are NOT used to doing so between themselves.

Sure, they have loads of power, but not every Herald has Surfer power. Heck, SpiderMan even beat Firelord in hand to hand combat, and hes not known for his power. While the Heralds might have an overall nod in raw power, the JLA arent too shy with raw powers as well. Youre talking Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and the Flash. Thats POWER!

That and their vast teamworking advantage gives them a slight nod to the JLA for me, and my overall vote.

I agree The Heralds are all strong but they never work together really so it would be new for them and they wouldn't be too good at it I vote JLA

I got to disagree about the team work part. The Hearlds can work as team as shown when they took down Morg. They were the best team but they can do it.
It would come down to Surfer and Supes. And Surfer wins that fight. Everything Supes can do, Sufer can do too.

JLA take this one, if the Green Lantern with them is HAL JORDAN~~~~

Not so, Batman did quite well with the JLAs battle against Terminus, as noted previously. He wont engage the battle head on, hell find a spot to observe, knowing the JLA can man to man the rest of the Heralds without him, and when he finds the weak spot, hell use the mental link and the JLA will STRIKE.

This is how I see it.


Green Lantern vs. Nova.

Flash and Aquaman vs. Airwalker.

Martian Manhunter vs. Terrax.

Wonder Woman vs. Firelord.

Superman vs. Silver Surfer.

Except for the Superman/Surfer fight, I see the JLA taking near every battle. While I do believe Surfer can eventually take Superman, I think the rest of the JLA that win (in my opinion anyway) would finish the Surfer off.

I'm going to go with the JLA on this one, teamwork plus all of their raw power is too much for the heralds.

I pick the JLA with the World's Finest left standing: Superman and Batman. Firelord + Martian Manhunter does not bode well for J'onn.

It would be a close fight. Let me add that if this were the Hal Jordan GL, he would be left standing as well and the match wouldn't be nearly as close.

and surfer can't do everything supes can do and definitely not better. Surfer is only fast moving distance to distance wise supes moves at superspeeds including attacking

The Heralds will take this one, it will be a good fight but the JLA don't have a great chance against them. A closer fight for the JLA would have been against the Defenders.
