HCRealms Exclusive - DC HeroClix: Unleashed - Metallo
From the fine folks at WizKids for our members first, Metallo, playtip written by Jason "Brother_Magento" Mical.
Metallo Sculpted By: James Van Schaik Painted By: Ben Saunders
Unit Num: 085
Point Value: 149
Team: Superman Enemy
Playtip: Everyone’s favorite astronomer-turned-supervillain, the mighty Metallo, is a cybernetic nightmare. Originally packed full of kryptonite, Metallo’s cybernetic body is part machine, part man, and all beatstick.
An expensive piece with Plasticity, Metallo is about one thing only: controlling a portion of the board. Once adjacent to this metal behemoth, enemies have to deal with him, which is easier said than done. His defense and attack aren’t incredibly high, but he’s got a very solid, deep dial and his statistics barely go down at all until he finally hits the mat.
As the weenies are pounding on him, Metallo will be pounding back. He keeps Super Strength and Exploit Weakness for several clicks, meaning that he’ll be dealing five clicks of damage with a heavy object every time he attacks – and Invulnerability won’t stop it. Best of all, his Plasticity allows for an easy break-away, so good placement of objects around the area you want him to control will ensure a nice, blocked choke point.
He also sports the Superman Enemy ability, which accounts for the rest of his 149 points. He’s got plenty of friends who can help him, giving them that much-needed Outwit to strip powerful figures of their precious powers – and the Exploit Weakness means you can focus your Outwit on something other than Toughness.
Due to his relatively high cost, Metallo is best played on a force with several of his super-villain buddies rather than as the focal point of a smaller force. He’s ideal in a 400 or 500 point game, where he can get the backup he needs while ruling a portion of the board while you concentrate elsewhere. Oh, and he’ll look really cool while he’s doing it, too.
Thank god! A non-KC unique. THIS is the Amazo of the set that I HAVE to have. Yes, I know he's not as powerful as Amazo, and I don't care. He is drop dead sexy and I am totally and completely on his ####.
