Question about using Additional Team Abilities (ATAs)
Looking for a way to heal Bombastic Bag-Man other than with the Fatastic Four TA (I know it's not possible now) I read again the part of the manual explaining ATAs, and found something I overlooked before:
Additional Team Ability (ATA) cards can be added to your force if the characters on your team meet the prerequisite listed on the card. Each ATA card indicates the cost per character that must be added to your force in order to use it in the game; all characters that meet the prerequisites must be assigned the ATA and your force’s Build Total is affected accordingly. ATA cards provide either different or additional team abilities to the qualifying characters on your force. These team abilities are possessed by the qualifying characters and can be used by wild cards (unless the ATA specifies otherwise). A force may only include one ATA card.
Does this mean that if I have, say, an Avengers force with 3 characters and, for example, 390 points on a 400 points build, I CAN NOT assign the Secret Avengers (point cost 5) ATA because I'm forced to use it on the three of them, without the option to use it in only on one or two of the members?
Correct. You have to assign an ATA to every eligible character, or you can't assign it at all.
And there actually is a way to heal Bagman.
Characters that are removed from the battle map may not use their own powers, abilities, or feats except as stipulated by the effect removing them from the battlefield.
So, if you slap the Lazarus Pit feat on him in a Golden Age game, and he gets KO'd, you can use the Pit to heal him back up, because his trait isn't used while removed from the map.

As a follow-up question, if I have a non-themed force and only one character qualifies for a certain ATA, it's perfectly legal to give only him/her that ATA, right?
Yeah, as long as your force only contains one ATA, you can run it on only one character (though if any others on the team had the same keyword, you'd still need to give the ATA to all of them, even if it isn't technically a "theme" team).
Could we maybe please get a Negative Man figure, if it isn't too much trouble?
