This is so many kinds of wrong, dumb, and illogical. The nonsensical outweighs the sensible, to the point that this post is not even worth picking apart.

What "serious tournament" did you win? I was at the GSX Clixathon where Alex played a JSA team and made it to final 2. He almost beat a Professor X scientist team. The one with Floronic Man, SI Spiderman x2, Researcher x2, etc. He did not play the gauntlet. He played a JSA theme team because he loves the JSA. Everyone played the Gauntlet in World's if I remember correctly. It levels the playing field and when both players have it adds another level of strategy. I personally wait to attack when my opponent doesn't have certain gems showing or I do have them showing. If both players have the gauntlet then it comes down to skill. I hear people crying about the IG who don't have the skill set to keep up with the gems how many clicks until the bonus and so on. It is a challenge to overcome an IG equipped team when you are without one. Why give yourself a handicap in an important event like World's?
I have also watched games where someone uses the IG because they think it is so powerful and just keep using HSS. They usually lose to the smarter player who thinks outside the box and force blasts them off the cliff. You have access to all powers but choosing the right one isn't as easy as point and click. Both players have access to the same figures and resources, it takes a little skill, a little ingenuity, and a little luck.

True story. I agree totally with this assessment. Trolls please take the exit ramp toward Hatersville. I hear there's a GripeCon tournament where everyone plays without the newest innovations to the game and castigates everyone who does. That should be a nice fit.

Complete agreement with the above. I am sure by now the pro/anti-gauntlet arguement has been made multiple times over. However, I feel I should put in my 2 cents (for what its worth).

It seems the gauntlet has allowed for more variation in competitive team builds than in previous years. Its nice to see teams competing at the highest levels without being mirror images of each other (Gem of Cyttorak, Metron and insert Thing/Nightcrawler/Kid Zoom) with the winner being the player who has the luckiest rolls.

Yes, some figures did pop up on almost every team this year (ie. Scarlet Witch) but even if everyone used her and the guantlet, its only a little over a third of the entire build which allows for more choices for figures for the rest of the team. Also, if everyone plays the gauntlet then all should be more or less equal in that regard (yes one player may land on a better click of the gauntlet but over the course of the game it probably balances out). Just think, if there was no gauntlet, the earlier predictions of a mostly Ventry top 16 would probably had come true, and how much fun would it have been to watch those matches?

Easy to fix this argument...the 2nd annual HCRealms Championships are less than 2 weeks away at Dragon*Con (Dragoncon.org) so come on buy and put up or...well, you get the drift.

Obviously you need a quote "Live in the Past, and all you become is a grumpy old person" so noted. Feats were phased out yes and SP's were moved in, a much more unique ability for the individual character.

Learn to play the game as intended and maybe you will be able to compete with World Champion caliber players. And honestly your lack of growing with the game tells me I could probably beat you all 5 matches so don't challenge any World Champs anytime soon..

Plenty of time for Alex to factor that in if he chooses. Quite possible his Stargirl will be useable for both JLA & JSA teams.
