I think they rushed this one. Why is the Thing with the sculpt "ripping up" the ground not the Thing with the special power? Too much product for one year in my opinion. How many of the obvious marvel figures (thing, hulk, Thor etc.) do we need?

Gotta go with the overall disappointed vibe on this one. One of these two versions should have been the rookie classic Thing in the set, they should have scrapped the other one, and then they should have promoted him into something WAY better than the trench coat Thing's dial. In a 10th Anniversary set with amazing versions of Hulk and Iron Man, the Thing should have received a lot more ever-lovin', especially if there is no other member of the Fantastic 4 in the set (Invisible Woman should have been in rather than Miss Frost, IMO).

I love the F4 and love fielding them and options are good. Unfortunately, though, these two takes on Thing just don't excite or entice me that much. They seem very lackluster. I see myself reaching for someTHING better practically every time.

Nice sculpts, though.
Truth. Justice. Honor.

If we want them in our world we need to cultivate them in ourselves.

Effects Covering Dial Windows
I sure hope that rock he is standing on, is not covering the Dial Window to where you cannot read the Movement Number, like they have done before on other figures. I also hope he is at least as big as the one from SI.

How do you give an object to a fig that doesn't have super strength?
Will he drop it the next move?

The power that lets him pull objects from outside of the game also lets him use Super Strength. Or were you referring to something else?

I love both sculpts...but play-wise...hmmm...ok, but nothing that makes me go WOW.
I must say that I believe they missed the oppurtunity to make "spikey" Thing...or "Bucket of Shame" Thing. Those two are real classics still missing for Ben!

I love the 82 point Thing! He looks like a beast. The sculpt looks great though I wish we would have seen the pre-rock-skinned Thing in the same pose. I'm not sold on the trenchcoat version but I'll take it. Definitely wish the promoted version was a ~200 point slugger for more variety in Things and because he's in my top 5 favorite heroes of all time.
I play for fun. Winning is fun. Doing goofy things is fun. Playing with little plastic people along with friends is fun.

Agreed. And characters like Ben should always have super strength just like Scarlet Witch should always have prob. I like the rip-it-up SP and the 82 sculpt is cool, but everything else just fails, which I have since he is my favorite.

Love the sculpts but the built-in Rip It up doesn't do much for me-I like the GG Sr Thing better.
