I live in a small town in California. We are having a golden age tournament at the comic shop this Wednesday. The rules are 1 v.s. 1 on Street Fighter maps. You must have 3 characters. And you can use 400 points. Now, being from a small town I dont have a HUGE selection of heroclix. But I do have more than anyone in the town. My current team is Lobo and Steel from the superman set and August General in Iron from a way older set. I choose him because almost every click has exploit weakness. I have most commons, uncommons, and rares from the Hulk set and some Super Rares. And I bought 1 brick of superman.... Any ideas out there? Oh and we cant use the infinity gauntlet in his game.

Can never go wrong with SM001 Superman at 150 points if you have him.

I'm betting that you'll need outwit since you'll be playing on a street fighter map I'll bet you see lots of super-senses on them.

Really? Given the build of 3 figures in 400, I'd be expecting something a little tougher. However, I agree with you about the Outwit.

Superman 150 as was said is a good choice.

If you have Red Hulk he may be an interesting thing to throw in the mix - outwit, gets stronger as you go, 2 poison damage for if you run into squishies.

Lobo is a great choice for this kind of format, not only because of the healing, but because on the reduced Street Fighter maps Hook Line and Massacre will be great.

If you have him, I'd be looking at Magog pretty carefully. For 172 points you get a beatstick that just keeps coming. And he is partially protected from close combat through the KC team ability.

For lower point filler, the UC Daredevil from Hulk comes with outwit and the ability to ignore SC and SS. That's pretty good for this format with Charge and an 11 attack up front.

All of those are close combat heavy though (with the exception of Superman). I think I'd personally be looking at something like an Iron Man or a Thor. Someone who can dish it out from Range and then engage. The SI/Classics Iron Man would be good if you have him:

(Damage) Extremis: Iron man can use Outwit and Perplex. When a power or ability is not countered by Iron Man's Outwit, he can use Super Senses.


I think I'd be a little concerned if I saw that across from me and I didn't have any Outwit handy.

Awesome guys, i do have red hulk and that superman. I also some of the other figs. I will test some of them out and thanks for the advice guys.

Well i went in with the original team i proposed. (August General, Steel and Lobo) My best friend borrowed my red hulk and couldnt get superman to work for me.... I WON FIRST PLACE BABY! The first guy I faced took out my August General in Iron with and Iron Man but then I brought in Steel and he beat Iron man, black widow and supergirl. In the next match, I beat all three of the guys characters with August General in Iron. He had Hercules, She Hulk, and I forget who the third person was. And in the last match up I beat the guys first character with August General, then he brought in Pyro and beat August General, and I brought in Steel and took out his Pyro and his killer character. Thw Wonder Woman from the Green lantern Blackest Day starter set. Thanks for all the help guys. It was a fun tournament.
