And why should sports cards cost more? Nothing is worth more than what somebody is willing to pay. If we as a whole refused to pay ridiculous secondary market values, they would NEVER be so high.
No one likes to be called a liar however. No one likes comments that show clearly that the person didn't bother to read all of the article either. Here let me give you an example:
If all I used was the BIN prices at ebay, you would see a price listed from ebay as an example for every single piece. Do you? Nope. So much for that theory. I also wouldn't bother mentioning that I went to more than one website and that I took the nearest average amongst them, Troll and Toad (respected in several places as the go to for deciding prices on collectibles) (Disclaimer to that last comment in parenthesis: just because it's not the case where you live doesn't mean that I'm wrong). I also outright explained how I got what I got if anyone bothered to read that.
.
And I did on Troll and Toad, go through every single piece of every single set. You can scroll right through them. Compare them to other sites for yourself. I also went to Strikezone, Miniature Market, coolstuffinc, and gamehollow.com
This never happened Jarimy123 said it SEEMS to be, NOT that it actually was. Not one post in this thread accuses you of taking them all off Ebay. Averaging through different websites during a single week doesn't reflect actual secondary market values. This subject is really all over the place and no one was trying to discredit you. We were simply trying to warn other hcrealms members that these prices should not be what they should expect to pay for the particular pieces. Unless, as I listed you are an impulse buyer in which case you can pay whatever you want to get your piece overnighted to you.
Nice thread, I enjoy all your other threads as well. Just buyer beware, take these prices with a grain of salt.
Buying Legion of Superheroes custom dice. PM me if you have a pair for trade/sale.
The Flashes get a 21 on their last click and Superman/Flash has a trait that lets them replace their speed value with the highest unmodified speed value on the board.
Waller KOs: AA Robin, Kid Devil, Joker, Question; AW E Cap; FCBD Iron Man; Miracle & Oberon; John Stewart x2, Iron Patriot; Shatterstar; IH Herc; CW Photon & Nitro; FF Nite Owl; 10An R Thor, E Iron Man, Weapon X; FF Kilowog; Hugo Strange; Calender Man; Legion Cosmic Boy & Lightning Lad
Dude no offense but you are way off with these prices and might actually have people put their figures up expecting to get serious coin and they're gonna get a surprise. These top prices are probably from stores like Troll/Toad who get sales from people who "don't trust private sellers" and want security. They are willing to pay more. Maybe you should've visited the trading discussions forums first and gotten some realistic averages. Did you also check the Infinity Gauntlet listings closely? Notice that lots of them come with gems, maps, and even the IG the Gardener alone sells for around $15.
I collect Archangel and have 13 now. He doesn't sell for $50 normally more like $25. Storm sells for $50 FF is making a big comeback.
Sorry most these prices are not right and have never been what you say. Hate to be critical but I know someone is gonna try and trade me a Gardener now and reference this article as fact. With this post I hope to avoid that.
What’s your most valued HeroClix figure in your collection? I’m talking about dollar values, though sentiment can make that rise. But what comes to mind?
Nightcrawler from Clobberin Time definately mine: The fact that in the day he was so expensive, but also the fact that I got him as a Father's day present from my wife and son (he couldn't afford him) just adds to the value ( I wouldn't go back into a burning building for him but I would grab him on the way out!).
Alfred Pennyworth from Origins probably next - pulled him from a booster pulled in Poundland (a shop where everything is £1)
