So I'm getting into this argumetn with a long time magic player who's just taken up clix...I posited that while I like Harvest I'd say in 300 he's easily beaten...so I posted this team and I will repost the comments associated with it.
For the sake of this argument we'll call him Magic Mike
If you're a half way decent player you should be able to set up plays with this guy fairly easily, even against the temple designed teams. Perplex up his attack to a 12 put his defense at a 20 running shot pulse wave in.. either deal out 75-150 points worth of point value. Or make half of the teams completely awkward. Especially since most clickers wouldn't be able to deal with the extra action token on all their guys. Also the fact that he gets psy blast after his top click + his trait+prob might make him one of the best one v oners in modern right now
"And if you're playing a half well decent player why would you let them set up for a Pulse wave? Alternatively what about tentpoles that hulk out like Malestrom? Why not just outwit his powers? What about against a catwoman?
An Unspoken+a single mobile outwitter does just fine against him.
I'm not saying he's awful he's just a well balanced piece.
He has no keywords that lend to extra mobility (Gotham City,Justice League, Animal etc) so you could have to invest in a TKer. Yes he's solid...given the right support but in 300 modern which world's does for their format he gets eviscerated as he can't afford it.
Above 300? #### yeah he can be a huge threat and I do like that he can make up for his own lagging attack value main dial but meh.
In 300 for example: Mole man+Nightmare w/ Utility Belt
Prep time to any +2 click...probably outwit or super senses. Taking a click of damage. Wait one turn then mole man can Mind Control Nightmare have him Jump 12 Squares and Pulse Wave for 6 damage with a 13 attack.
That's at most 110+47+13= 170
You can then fill out your points in anymannner you choose. You can keep theme but...why bother if you have Nightmare. Play John Constantine. 229.
Depending on the day (One Should Know ahead of time) I would consider filling the spot with Calendar Man to Neuter Harvest. 281.
Astral Strange to fill points and mess up some stuff.
And JL Silver Age Ata because why the hell not. 298.
Of course this team just doesn't take down harvest but most tentpoles, in 300 modern.
In Larger Games I'd opt for my dream team of "#### you": Dirk Anger, Unspoken and invisible jet"
Okay? Outwit your outwit.. idk why you would put him in lof for an opposing outwiter. Also very few outwitters have stealth so he could just out with their outwit. Also outwit is a less than impressive way to "deal" with this guy. And also every single click you named wouldn't be good against any of the more popular clicks. Also the only real argument u made there was the outwit. And it was lack luster
" Nightmare has power cosmic. You're not outwitting his outwit.
Actually as well A LOT of outwitters in modern have Stealth because the Batman set just dropped as well as a horror themed set that has character's known for lurking in the shadows.
Really Pulse wave with a 13 attack and 6 damage? With a character...that can cover 12 squares and would have a net range of 6 with Pulse Wave...yeah...Magic Mike.
I'd also have Two outwitters given when worlds happen (Calendar man and Nightmare) In addition to a a possible third if I decided to push Constantine off of his Probability control. Magic Mike I get you like dick wagging when it comes to Magic but seriously you have no concept of competitive clix playing. In 300 he even gets stomped by Sentry/Void who's frankly unfit to be run in 300 modern by himself.
Calendar's man ability to cut your movement and range IN HALF does nothing to neuter you guy who would rely on Running Shot Pulse Wave? Seriously you go from 10 (5 Running shot) with a 9 Range (5 For Pulse wave) To a 5 (3 for Running shot) with a 5 Range (3 for Pulse Wave). yeah you aren't doing dick.
And again: Nightmare can easily stay out of Harvest's range while still being able to close in IF needed."
You do realize nightmare is terrible right?
"Yup he's not mobile enough at 110 points that's why you run Mole Man in order to give him some Giddy up.
But I'd say...that like the majority of the Realms threads and the tournaments that I frequent would disagree. It all depends on how you use him."
Tl:DR You say?
How Does this Team Fair against harvest with the staff:
Nightmare W/ Utility Belt (Prep timed to +2 Taking pushing damage)
GG Mole Man
SoG Calendar Man (On an Even Day on a Weekday...or even not a weekday whatever)
Astral Dr. Strange (Either dial...)
JL Silver Age ATA on Constantine.

There's no way I defend Harvest in 300, but no one is going to use the staff at that point value when the UB is so much better (and also allows him to outwit Power Cosmic, which you were assuming he couldn't).
The figure's value is in high-point games where there are many threats on your team and you can use him more for his non-Incap incapping while whittling away with Pulse Wave damage. Forget tentpole and think support. Then he gets freakin' scary.
