Welcome back to the second part in our spotlight on the intercompany crossovers! Characters from different comic lines and universes getting together to face off against equally combined threats! Also, the chance to make a buttload of money! And in our case, the chance to dust off some of those old Indy clix!
The first couple teams we're going to look at are some really low point teams. Like 100-200 points. Mainly since a lot of crossovers between the late 90's and early 00's weren't just between Marvel and DC, but Marvel, DC and Image. Specifically the Top Cow brand and WildStorm, right up to DC buying them. Also, these teams are going to be low points, because, let's be honest here... have you seen the old Indy clix dials?
Tell you one person who hasn't seen the Indy dials: Daredevil.
Take for example the several instances between Top Cow crossing over with Marvel. Back in 2008, Daredevil met with Magdalena. I'd say more here, but I have absolutely no idea who Magdalena is.

(Special) Alter Ego: Daredevil: Give Matt Murdock a power action that deals no pushing damage and replace this character with IH #021 Daredevil, IH #031 Daredevil, or IH #103 Daredevil on its orange starting line. Existing action tokens on this character and action tokens for this action are applied to the replacement. This power can't be countered. (Damage) Sue for Libel: Matt Murdock can use Outwit. He can use it normally, or he can use it targeting a character of 75 points or less within 6 squares if he uses it to counter Outwit, Perplex, or Stealth. (This does not require line of fire.)
This pair comes out to 100 points exactly. Just get Matt to his AE clicks as soon as possible. But while we're discussing crossovers featuring characters I'm totally ignorant of, Top Cow had a major crossover event with Marvel during 1997 called Devil's Reign. Blackheart was trying to take over things and Top Cow folks became pawns and fought back alongside Marvel characters. One of the teamups during that arc was Cyblade and Danny Ketch, Ghost Rider!

(Damage) Penance Stare: Ghost Rider deals penetrating damage to opposing characters that have damaged a friendly character since your last turn.
GR and Cyblade together add up to 191 points. So either go with Running Start for Cyblade, a Protected for Ghost Rider or something else. Your call.
"HULK BELIEVE IN THING CALLED LOVE! JUST LISTEN TO RHYTHM OF HULK HEART!"
Thankfully, this brings us to Top Cow characters I am familiar with. First off is The Darkness. Garth Ennis and Marc Silvestri's hitman-turned-wielder-of-demonic-power. This guy has teamed up with a wide array of characters from DC and Marvel. Superman, Batman, Wolverine, Ghost Rider and as of a one-shot in 2004, he teamed with The Hulk.

(Attack) Leave Hulk Alone!: All damage dealt by Hulk causes knockback. (Damage) Guns Make Hulk Mad!: Modify Hulk's attack and damage values by +1 for each time he was targeted by a ranged attack since your last turn.
Darkness and Hulk come out to exactly 200 points. So no need for filling out points with feats.
Man, David E. Kelley went off the rails with this one...
Our next Top Cow character that's the crux of our crossover teams is Witchblade. Now whether you're familiar with the comic, her awful TV show or like most people, her boobs, she's met a lot of other characters too. Specifically in 2001 when she met the Justice League. In the book, Sara Pezzini meets up with her old friend Barbara Gordon and for some reason or another the Witchblade gauntlet just goes crazy and possesses every woman the Justice League. Which is what's going to make up our team here, because otherwise it would just be Witchblade and the whole core lineup from Morrison's era and that would be just way to big.

(Damage) Lasso of Truth: Whenever Wonder Woman hits a character already possessing two action tokens, all damage to that character this turn is penetrating damage, including damage from this attack.
These ladies all add up to 300 exactly if we add In Contact With Oracle to Witchblade, Huntress and Wonder Woman.
For when Viagra just won't do the job: White faced ninja girls with swords.
Now since we're on the subject of girl power in crossovers, let's talk about Shi. In 2000, this Crusade character met up with Wolverine. I'd say more, but that would imply I've read it, which I have not.

(Special) Healing Factor: At the beginning of your turn, you may heal Wolverine of 1 damage.
These two come out to 150 points. Not a team meant for tournament play, but rather one meant for home and fun. Maybe put them against a bunch of Hand ninjas, since I imagine that's who they fought.
Weirdest episode of "Sons of Anarchy" EVER.
But if you're not interested in playing a bunch of teams centered around 90's bad girls and want some more testosterone on your force, then maybe the 1995 crossover between Judge Dredd and Lobo might be up your alley.

(Special) Blah Healing Factor Blah: At the beginning of your turn, as a free action you may heal Lobo of 1 damage. (Attack) Lazy DAWG: Lobo can use Flurry. Before the second attack, roll a d6. His damage value becomes the result minus 1 and is locked. (Damage) Hook, Line, and Massacre: Give Lobo a power action, and choose an opposing character within 5 squares and line of fire, and roll a d6. If the d6 result is higher than the number of squares to that character, you may place that character in a square adjacent to Lobo. On any result, you may then make a close combat attack.

Lobo and JD add up to 278 points, which when I ran them, had Swingline on them both just for some ease on movement. Though if you don't have Judge Dredd, in a pinch I'm sure people could be convinced through the Heroclix Actor Transitive Property to let you use Dr. McCoy from the Star Trek Away Team set, since it's Karl Urban.
A lot of our builds this time have primarily been teamups, but if you're interested in some crossover fun that's of a more adversarial nature, then dig out all those old Alien & Predator Horrorclix you've got sitting around and have them face off against the DC universe, where they fought Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and the JLA!
Last crossover for this week doesn't actually have any dials to speak of, and no point value we can attest to as of yet. See, we know that in next year's Teen Titans set, we're going to be getting Gen13. We don't have the details of either their individual or team dials yet, but they've crossed over with the likes of Spider-Man, Superman and the Fantastic Four. So when the information comes out, we can at least build for the future. I'd have suggested Generation X, but we seem to be missing a few of those folks.
Now I know I said last time that this crossover retrospective was going to be two parts. But like The Hobbit, we had to stretch this baby into a trilogy. Next time, we look at a crossover so big, it had to get its own article. This four part epic demands its own spotlight. So see you then, and thanks for reading Comic Accurate.
Great article! Crossovers are great! I wish they would come out with more Indy sets! Or even a 10th anniversary where they modernize the ones from the whole original Indy set!
This just reminds me how little the people at WK knew about the Indy characters they were making dials for... Almost all of the dials are a combo of L/C, Blades, and SS/Toughness. Or Stealth, Blades, SS/Toughness. Then they just have different point values and combat values. There was so much potential here but it was wasted because of laziness.

"How did you know you weren't crazy?"
"The voices were calling me Bruce. That's not what I call myself."
"Well, what do you call yourself?"
"... The GD Batman."
Now, whether you're a fan of Indy clix, Shi, Magdelena, Witchblade or none of the above you do have to admit that the Indy clix are useful for what they bring. Even though most of them bring the same thing.
Vet Shi has great range, attack and decent damage. Not to mention that TA, while limited, is useful.
Vet Magdelena is about the least used Vet from the Indy Set I still have in my collection. Withcblade does what she does, but better in most options.
The one you did miss was Kabuki. Her REV is great for the Stealth TA and AV/Damage.
All in all the Indy set gives plenty of options for inexpensive Stealth BCF figures with 3 Damage and decent AVs.
WizKids GamePlay, "You can only play our game if you buy the new stuff. Those old figures are dirty and obsolete."

To be fair, special powers and traits would go a long way towards giving these characters the flavor they deserve. I would kill for new Danger Girl clix...
