1000 point chase thanos killlbox
I've got a 1000 point game where I'd really like to run chase thanos.

The event is silver age, so any figures, but no feats or BFCs.

I expect to see galactus(es), ventrys, and colossal thanoses, so I thought this would be my best bet.

Thanks for the help!

I'm considering this team-
350 GG049 Thanos
175 FFWOL001 Atrocitus
47 GG026 Mole Man x3
38 IH003 A.I.M. Agent x6
100 CL1-07 Mr. Fantastic
5 IHS101 Gamma Bomb
999

Atrocitus gets his attack and damage rule of 3ed up to 14 atk and 6 dmg and flurrys, over and over b/c of mole men.

Potential 48 dmg in one turn, w/ extra perplex to raise ds at the end of turn.

Best part- it's a scientist theme.

How about:

350 GG049 Thanos
93 WS062 Doppelganger
11 XP001 Con Artist
11 XP001 Con Artist
11 XP001 Con Artist
11 XP001 Con Artist
11 XP001 Con Artist
11 XP001 Con Artist
11 XP001 Con Artist
11 XP001 Con Artist
19 CT031 Avalanche
19 CT031 Avalanche
47 GG026 Mole Man
47 GG026 Mole Man
47 GG026 Mole Man
47 GG026 Mole Man
47 GG026 Mole Man
47 GG026 Mole Man
47 GG026 Mole Man
47 GG026 Mole Man
47 GG026 Mole Man
5 IHS101 Gamma Bomb
997

Same amount of perplex, get Doppelganger up to a 14 attack, 6 damage, and attack a potential 20 times in a turn (120 damage) with three perplexes left over and two barriers if you want it. It isn't a theme team but it makes up for that with more than twice the damage output and it actually works.

If you are going to run a chase thanos killbox, you probably want to run a theme team. If you don't and you lose map choice, your opponent will probably elect to play on the Shadowlands map and make the killbox hard to execute due to being unable to target anything more than six squares away.

I would also point out that if your opponent elects to run colossal thanos at 1000pts, the killbox automatically fails, so you may want to build a team that can take advantage of the killbox but can function effectively without it.

The Thanos Con Artist team just about made me throw up.

Now I build a monster of a team back for month 5, 700 Chanos Killbox theme team. Featured
Thanos
Aim Agents x2
Aim Renegades
Tomar Re
Klaw GF
Howard Stark
Researchers x3

It simply was not fair at all. You get such a huge theme roll, you will almost always win the roll off at the start of the game to pick the correct map. So map choice is never an issue.

Then if you were to add another 300 points it's very easy. You can add in more AIM Agents, Renegades, Researchers, and atleast 1 more Attacker that is scientist. The thing is you can only teleport 2 figures at a time so the goal is to kill them both or damage them very badly as soon as you teleport them too you. With more Attackers you can make it quicker and repeat the attacks with more frequency. Stick to the Scientist them and your money. Modern age takes away the researcher but in golden they are still good.

Here is the link to the thread, it does a have video on there but the team built is here so you don't need to watch it. http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=368089

The wording of thanos's power says he places the 2 highest figures adjacent. If there is a one man army facing thanos he can't teleport them because he needs 2 figures to teleport

You are right, but it doesn't really make sense. The judge at my venue allows us to teleport 1 figure.

the power doesn't state up to 2, just 2.

as soon as you can't move 2 figures, you can't teleport

Edit: i got carried away and forgot to include thanos

I will suggest though, if you use chase thanos, and win map roll. Choose the Hammer of Thor fast forces map.

Summon your opponent into lava. At the end of your turn, they take 1 damage. And if they don't break away (thanos has placticity=D) they take another 1 at the end of every other turn.

Edit:
Your team should also consist of 1 or more of the following.

1) Leech
2) Red Kryptonite
3) FoL: Atrocitus
4) The Unspoken

The whole point being to summon them in and make them fall victem to as amany situational effects as possible

The red kryptonite is so cheap, that you should always use it. After that I would do leech, cause he's cheap and easy to hide(stealth).

the combination of controlling effects, will leave them with few survival options other than getting extremely lucky.

Do what ever you want with the other 133 points.

Turn 1 - Merge Thor and Loki into HoT: Thor and Loki
Turn 2-∞ - Enjoy having a 362 point Herald of Galactus with the full IG. Don't forget to use your revenge tokens and Herald Dial!
Does it work like that?

That was a very helpful thread. Thanks!

How does this look? I updated based on some stuff in that thread, I really like the GF Klaws.
350 GG049 Thanos
195 AA050 Metron
60 CA210 Klaw
60 CA210 Klaw
15 WS003 Researcher
15 WS003 Researcher
15 WS003 Researcher
34 IH017 A.I.M. Renegade
34 IH017 A.I.M. Renegade
110 GG047 Mr. Fantastic
15 WS003 Researcher
15 WS003 Researcher
34 IH003 A.I.M. Renegade
38 IH003 A.I.M. Agent
5 Gamma Bomb
999

So the way you set it up, all of the attackers (Metron, Fantastic, GF Klaws) will all have +3 to dmg and at least +2 to attack.

R - R - R
AR - K - M - K - AR

So metron's attack is 12 b/c of toy w/ you, Klaws get the target -1 b/c of renegade's Hydra TA, and +1 to attack for Metron and one AIM Agent's perplex.
Mr. Fantastic will be off to the side with 2 researchers and an AIM R, so +3 to DMG, and +2 to attack for his perplex and the other aim agent, as well as -1 to target's def.

It would take a turn to set up, but I think it might work.

What do you think?
