He probably means giving the astrals ESD so they don't get smashed from range.

This is my favorite Dr. Strange fig to date. He's the one I always use

Have two awesome stories for him

1: I actually customized this figure into Dr. Orpheus from Venture Bros.

2: Was playing this guy on a team at a 600pt tournament. Was facing a range-heavy sharpshooter team and had placed all my guys adjacent to Dr. Strange. My opponent runs up his sharpshooter with the highest atk value to try and shoot Dr. Strange off that power...not only did he miss but he crit failed. At which point I said "Oh I'm afraid the shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive." My opponent's frustration and cursing turned into a giggle-fit due to how apt that particular Star Wars quote was to our situation.

Great figure, 5-stars all around just wish he had avengers and Illuminati...but I totally understand why he doesn't.
It doesn't matter who I am, what matters are my Skrulls.

First-rate support piece, useful on every click and capable of elevating your tentpole pieces to a much scarier level. I appreciate that you can push him once and not lose the great ESD-sharing power. Also, his range, attack and movement values are all good in themselves. Is it just me, or is the good Doctor arguably the best-represented character in Heroclix? His low-point versions are great, and his high-point versions are great...

Tabapp Iron Man, CWFF Iron Man (on his 2nd click), DKR Commissioner Gordon, and the Warship Voyager (on it's 2nd click) can all outwit Dr. Strange's special even when he's hiding behind friends.

SoG Deathstroke and David Cain on later clicks can too, but it's not as impressive I suppose.
