Nice review! I play this map quite a bit. Those 4 pillars of blocking terrain get in the way a lot more than one might think.

The new Hawkman would love this map with his Divebomb power. And the Kryptionian ATA was made for this!

You can place objects in the doorways to slow down HSS but flyers can hit and then duck around a corner, meaning you'll have to have high movement or be lucky enough to be able to destroy a wall and get LoF to them.

If they go to the same side as you that's true. Jotenheim ( the snowy 4 level HoT FF map ) would be better for Hawkman since you could go straight to the center of the map and get a level advantage.

I absolutely love this map.
Aesthetically, it's one of the nicest looking maps I've ever seen. The water terrain is not only beautiful to look at, but is placed so that aquatic figures can actually get some benefit out of it; had a game where I played the original Defenders and Namor kept using transporter attack to grab objects and fly back into the water to exploit the Atlantis ATA.
Those four pillars of blocking don't look like much, but are placed just perfectly to make a big difference on gameplay, providing some surprisingly effective cover for close combat pieces.
I do agree about ground-based teams having some issues though. I played a Superman enemy-themed team recently, with AA Bizarro and Toyman being the only really mobile pieces (which didn't last long in Toyman's case after getting hit once). Poor Luthor (non-flying FF one), Solomon Grundy, and Felix Faust had a bear of a time getting anywhere useful. I didn't really realize just how limited the access points are to the elevated terrain until that game.
Regardless, this has become one of my more frequently played maps lately.

It would be great if NECO would bundle past maps and sell them again. They could wait until a release sold out before selling them. Why not make more money off old product? It's not like they don't reuse old sculpts. I'd certainly would be interested in map bundles and I bet other people would be too.
