Can a Wildcard keep copying the TA of a KOed Teammate?
I ran a theme team tourney over the weekend. The regular judge was a player.

His Livewire was copying OWAW Supes TA before Supes was KOed.

The judge went to make an attack and said he was using the Supes TA...since he never 'turned it off.'

I ruled that since Supes was gone...Livewire couldn't copy the TA anymore...he said it was incorrect...but I maintained my ruling.

Is there anything that says Livewire can hold onto the TA?

No TA = NO COPY.

You ruled correctly.

If a team loses a TA due to KO you cant keep copying it. Wildcards copy there TA from action to action. And can even use multiple per turn for this reason.
You're adopted and your parents don't even love you. (Dodgeball)

Too many good trades to count. Where did my Trade thread go? :disappoin

That's exactly what I thought. He said the rules used to say that so long as the Wildcard never switched from the TA...he would maintain it.

Have the rules ever stated that? I think he's smoking crack.

You can only mimic tas of friendly figures still in play. Once Supes went out, so did the ta.

They may have said that at one point (and I truly can't remember such a ruling), but, quite simply, they no longer say that.

Quite simply, the WC TAs state that they can only copy a TA that a teammate on the map possesses. If Supes is no longer on the map, you cannot copy his TA.

The problem is the term "copy" which would be ambiguous. But the PAC/SPC doesn't use this term. It says
Quote
They can use any team ability that any friendly figure on the battle map possesses.
There is no separate copying process. A wild card figure just uses the abilities of its team mates as it needs them, provided that they are still on the map.
