Walt Simonson's run with Thor.

Ragnarok and Roll

AMAZING! Art and story were just fantastic. The fight with Jormugund where every panel was an entire page for the entire comic was awesome. First Blood-Last man with the Executioners last stand at Gjallbru is my favorite comic.

"They sing no songs in Hel, nor do they celebrate heroes . . .

. . . For silent is that dismal realm and cheerless . . .

. . . But the story of the Gjallerbru and the god who defended it is whispered across the nine worlds . . .

. . . And when a new arrival asks about the one to whom even Hela bows her head . . .

. . . The answer is always the same . . .

[panel of Skurge atop a mountain monsters, hacking at the demons with a spent weapon]

He stood alone at Gjallerbru . . .

. . . And that answer is enough.
"They shall learn that it is not for nothing we are called....The Avengers!"
Thor Odinson

Warning points for not suffering fools gladly!

Wow. That "First Blood - Last Man" quote gives me goosebumps even without the slow fade of Skurge to accompany it.

One of the best comics ever written, bar none.

Have a Great Day,
Gary E. Poisson
My end goal and greatest hope:
Mat 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Stan Lee, Silver Surfer from the 1970s...great stuff...Secret Wars and Infinity Gauntlet were great although quite dated.

Kingdom Come is great...Hush, Dark Knight Returns, The Long Halloween and Arkham Asylum are all incredible stories...also, Hitman and Preacher of course.

Best story of all time for me though is the Watchmen.

Agreed. Walt Simonson's Thor. I can still hear the THOOM, THOOM, THOOM.

For economy of scale "The Kid Who Loved Spider-man" still brings a tear to my eye...sniff.

Alan Moore's Miracleman (Marvelman) was awesome--at least 20 years ahead of its time.
