What was your favorite toy when you were 8-years-old?
I'm just old enough to remember the great Marx toy soldier sets, of which I had several. My favorite was my Fort Apache set, with a fort you could put together in different shapes, an assortment of cavalrymen, soldiers and indians in really cool, detailed sculpts, and a bunch of nifty accessories. (A little plastic well, a cannon, firewood with an ax sticking out of the top.) Cavalry patrols going out to get water from the well were commonly ambushed in my minuature version of the Old West.

I also had a toy fire truck with a working hose. No matter what my younger brother tells anyone, that fire truck was MINE--not his!!!! It was MINE!!!!!!

The Marx Vikings and Knights set. Still have most of the figures. Also, the American Revolution one. (Took that one to Colorado on vacation. Still have most of it.)

I'd have to say G.I. Joes. I had about 90 3 3/4ers and had massive grand scale wars of pure-prepubescent carnage!

I had the original Voltron diecast robot, Best toy ever. It was five in one! And bigger and badder than my older brothers Transformers.

Gotta go with my Hall of Justice Playset and Supermobile. Man how I loved my Supermobile. I no longer have it but I still have my Clark Kent Super Powers to remind me of the adventures we had

A close 2nd would be my GI Joe USS Flagg Aircraft carrier. That thing was like 6 feet long!

In 83? I think that before my Transformers hysteria, so I'm guessing He-Man, with Star Wars as a close second.

I also had the die cast Voltron (mmm... lead paint goodness), although I was older then 8 when that came out.

Hmmm, when I was 8 I would have to go with He-Man, Gi-Joe, and Laser Tag. I think that was the year that everyone got a cabbage patch kid too, and I mean EVERYONE!
I believe you underestimate my sneakiness.

The Marx figures were great. I had General Custer, Chief Cherokee, Sam Cobra, Sir Stuart, and all of their respective horses.
