The scenario for the 10JUL05 tournament for the Greater Fort Hood area:
The worst of the worst have started up a villainous battle, and only some unlikely heroes can stop them!
Pick one of the following factions:
Villainous (may not include Superman Ally, Batman Ally, Spider-Man Ally, JSA, JLA, Ultimates, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Green Lantern Corps, Kingdom Come, Outsiders, Police, Titans, X-Men or Ultimate X-Men): Serpent Society - 35pt of SS, no more than one of any non-SS TA Injustice League - 45pt of IL Batman Enemy - at least 2 characters with Batman Enemy Masters of Evil - 80pt of MoE
Heroic (may not include Crime Sydicate, Hydra, Kingdom Come, Minions of Doom, Sinister Syndicate, Skrulls, Superman Enemy, The Brotherhood, Calculator, Ultimates or Ultimate X-Men): S.H.I.E.L.D. - at least 5 characters with SHIELD TA Legion of Superheroes - must have Brainiac 5, may have no figure worth more points than Braniac 5
300pt teams, no dupes (defined by either same name or sculpt), single universe. Each team may not use the Team Abilities included in the list of other factions. Feat cards assigned to a prerequisite character would increase that figure's cost as normal, which may help reach the requirements. Fantastic Forces is not tournament legal.

Thanks! I know you like alternate win conditions (or at least alternate end game states), but this is for our tournament so it'll just run to 50 minutes each round.
The factions are actually based on the "winning" team of the bad-team-swap home tournament we ran this past month. I came up with the individual team restrictions on the fly. I'll be interested to see how it plays out on the 10th!

We played this scenario last night and our heads were hurting from how challenging it was to build a team using those restrictions. My oponent played Injustice league and I played shield. It looked just like a #### tournament part two having to use a lot of characters that you wouldn't normally see in a regular tournament. But on the whole I found the challenges exciting and I always thought characters with opposing team abilities shouldn't be allowed together anyways. One should just accept the strengths or flaws of a group and go with it.
What I predict will be in the tournament is a lot of 100+ point characters to compensate for having all the #### guys in the same team, after all, if you have to spend 80 points on crimson cowl or 35 points on a sidewinder, you're going to want something unstoppable, and a lot of expensive characters don't have a team affiliation.
Feats and Battlefield Conditions are not subject to "single universe." All Feats and BFCs (not Fantastic Forces) are available to all factions. This is actually pretty standard for our venue's tournaments, although may not have been clear to newer players/players outside our venue.
(Bystanders/Pogs cannot cross universes.)

I'm working up some teams, because:
1) Some of the players aren't certain how to build a team for this format,
2) Some of the players may show up with illegal teams,
3) There's the off-chance that I'll be able to play.
Here's my first shot at a Legion team. At least two of our players are building SHIELD, so I don't think I'll go into that one.

I still think I'm gonna play MoE because no one else will.
E Kang + TS 198
V U-Men 22
V Moon Knight 34
E Havok 38
292 points
That's right, KANG. I might throw on the R Paramedic just to be safe, too.
You don't think you'd rather have a wall of pogs to throw in front of him? Or would you be worried that they'd just KO one, and you'd lose outright?
Throwing on the Paramedic is certainly legal, although then you couldn't hand back and wait for your opponent...

We had 11 players show for the event, which is a good (just above average) turnout for us. We had five(!) SHIELD players, three Batman Enemy and three Serpent Society. I ran a Legion team in the first round (against the bye), but we had no Masters of Evil or Injustice League representation... some TAs for me to think about later, I think.
After three rounds, we had two 3-0 players. One of them had the first round bye, and had been paired down in the third round, so he came in second on tie-breakers...
