I'm considering using a pouncing Starter Spidey w/ Lamppost as my anti-Supes insurance in 300 points... I'm just worried, because if Supes is packing a desk I'll probably miss, even if I use a Computer instead of the lamppost. Even if he doesn't pack a desk, I've still got to roll a 7 and have him fail his Imp roll, which has less than 50% odds of happening. I can throw ICwO on Spidey to tip the odds in my favor(as long as he doesn't use the desk), and leave me able to hurt him even if I miss...
I was wondering what everyone elses experience has been with Spidey vs. Supes? What have you found to be the most effective?
Alternatively, is there another fig or figs adding up to around 75 or less that does well against Supes w/Fortitude?
my my anti-super man is vet joker but i think i can still help you out with spiderman.
First i use the ultimate spiderman, the vet for 58. The i put pounce and swingline on him. Ya thats a lot of point for him but it is very worth it, sometimes i even mut nano bots on him.
Why is he such a good anti superman.
He is kinda cheap
he has great range with 11 walking that mans he can hit superman from 12 away and not stop in hindering.
Also he has an 11 attack or 12 with the desk only needing a 6 to hit him or even with the soda machine he is doing 6 damage only needing a 7 to hit.
last but no least is his front loaded willpower. take him up about 5 or 6 spaces first turn, somewhere where superman can not hit him from range. Then next turn push to use pounce and attack him and you only take one damage b/c he started with will power.
Also almost forgot spiderman has the greated anti-superman power there is, supersences. it is so cool to dodge a 8 damage shot from him with just a simple 5 or 6 roll.
It took a little positioning and some barriers to accomplish, but I crushed a V Superman with a Pouncing Vet Ultimates Spider-man and a soda machine. So it can be done, you jus have to maneuver Spidey in such a way, as to never be in LOS of Superman.
Just want to point out guys that pushing damage due to a second toke is dealt after the action resolves. Ult Spidey will still take two clicks if he pushes to Pounce, since the Pounce push click happens at the end of the action (knocking him off Willpower) then, once the action is over and the second token added, you check for Willpower... and he doesn't have it, taking a second click.
I am not saying it isn't a good strategy, but it isn't as good as some people seem to think.
"How does [insert special power] work with the new 2013 rules?"
Most everything special power-wise, we're looking into. The PAC changes may change the way some special powers function; we're checking on them before the June release. In the meantime, ask your judge.

In the exchange you come out ahead, so long as Supes misses the IMP roll. So that's a minute inconvenience.
The Starter Spidey is more effective without any feats attached to him. I'd take V Crit Mass Spider-Man + Pounce, wildcarding the Skrull TA from a R Skrull Agent.

Very true, but I have seen a lot of people not really understand how that particular combination of feats/powers really works. Just wanted to make sure everyone here was clear on the game mechanics.

Thanks for the replies--I don't have V Critical Mass or V Ultimate Spidey, though... I've been meaning to get the Ultimate for awhile... I'm already kind've tight on points with this team, though.
I'm running two R Black Knight, T-bolted to Mystics, to block line of sight to start and taxi. I've got V Ult Hawkeye for the heavy duty killing. That gives Spidey Ultimates so I can pounce over hindering terrain, and Mystics to punish Supes for hitting him. I can have Lockjaw bringing up the rear carrying a pog, and with another pog up front and Spidey hoofing it (he'll have to anyway to carry an object), leaving Spidey and Hawkeye untouchable on the inside. Problem is... That means I need four actions to move the formation out, and in 300 points, I don't have it. Don't have the points to add leadership either, and even if I did it's not consistent enough to be worth it. Alternatively I can protect either Spidey or Hawkeye, but not both... And I need Hawkeye to kill Supes, and Spidey to make him sit still long enough for Hawkeye to do it.

Just by taking a quick look at that, if I am playing supes then as soon as you move out I can kill a R Black Knight with a heavy object then get out of Hawkeyes LOS and soar so you couldnt touch me and I could clear. So now I'm down 1 click then I kill the other Black Knight with another heavy object if there is one around and again keep out of Hawkeys LOS and in soaring. I will gladly trade you out a R Black Knight at 54 pts +5 for TB and take that 1 click of mystics damage. How often do you see a supes team without a medic?
You need to play someone with running shot to try and get LOS on Supes when he runs. I suggest trading out E Blackfire. She has a 10AV, RS, 10 range and 4 base damage for 11pts less than V Ult. Hawkeye. Use those pts for R Con Artist or ICWO. And if Supes has protected than that team will have a real hard time dealing him any damage besides the mystics. Also its very vulnerable to Poor Teamwork and Disbanded. Those are 2 cards that a lot of Supes teams will be packing. RS and PW is a big threat to Supes. It will ignore Protected and his Impervious. If Supes soars then perfect, you can isolate him with the PW and not have to Nova Blast since he would be the only target. And on a single target, non Nova Blast pulsewave you can still up the damage which a lot of people have seemed to forget nowadays. I suggest E,V Emerald Empress protected and copying mystics or Polaris since she is less points. Those are the only people I really fear when I play Supes.
Have no worries. There will be no HeroClix 2.0 while I'm working on the game. - Seth Johnson
