WizKids Announces Next HeroClix Collector’s Set fan vote!
WizKids Announces Next HeroClix Collector’s Set fan vote!
HeroClix Collector's Set #4 Theme Candidates
Dark Horse HeroClix: B.P.R.D.
Dark Horse HeroClix: Grendel
Wildstorm HeroClix: Astro City
DC HeroClix: Metal Men
Marvel HeroClix: 2099
Voting will be based on a ranking system, where players will rank which set they want to see most, to the sets they want to see least. The candidate theme receiving the highest overall score will be made into the fourth HeroClix Collector's Set!
Remember, if your favorite theme doesn't win, don't fear - it does not invalidate that theme from appearing on future ballots!
Voting will open on Wednesday, March 29 and will continue for one week, ending on Wednesday, April 5. WizKids will post the results of the vote on Monday, April 10.
The HeroClix community gets to decide what Collector’s Sets are produced in the future! Collector’s Sets will be issued with or around each new HeroClix booster release – and the themes of many sets will be determined by players’ votes! Most Collector’s Sets will include from five to seven characters, all tied together by a specific theme. Collector’s Set themes will allow collectors and players to get their hands on some of their favorite characters who might not otherwise appear in a HeroClix release. These Collector’s Sets can be either Marvel HeroClix, DC HeroClix, or Indy HeroClix sets!
The first HeroClix Collector’s Set is larger than life and plays huge: DC HeroClix Giants! This set includes seven Giant figures from the DC universe, similar to the Steel figure from DC HeroClix Legacy and is available on May 3, 2006 to customers who bought DC HeroClix: Collateral Damage by the Brick. The next two Collector’s Sets were fan-selected and are coming later this summer, available early and at a discount to Marvel HeroClix: Sinister Brick Buyers—Image HeroClix: Invincible and DC HeroClix: Green Lantern Corps.
Collector’s club members have an exclusive purchase window when they can buy a Collector’s Set at a discount – while supplies last! When they’re gone, they’re gone! If any Collector’s Sets are left after this window, they will be available to nonmembers at full price at a later date, and at conventions.
Though the word from WWLA is that WizKids will make some more Indy, I'll make my vote lean toward that end of the Comic Market:
1) Grendel (Hunter Rose and Grendel Prime would be so cool!)
2) Astro City (Too many cool characters to mention!)
3) B.P.R.D. (More Hellboy characters would also be cool!)
4) Metal Men (Loved the comic, but we're already getting Alloy, so I can wait)
5) 2099 (Already got Spider-Man, so I can wait on these too)
Much better choices than last time IMHO and definitely er than last time!
"Hail HYDRA! Immortal HYDRA! We will never be destroyed! Cut off a limb and two more shall take its place!" - Hydra Agent Mantra
"Come on Hulk! Where's the old boasting? The battle cries? Why aren't you bellowing about how you're 'the strongest one there is'? Could it be because... you know it's not true?"
"No. Because it's just too obvious."
-Juggernaut to Hulk
would Wildstorm Clix be its own expansion/category (even if it is just in collector's set form), or will it be Indy? Or DC?
I want AStro City Clix, but waaay too many!
It could simply be Honor Guard (Justice Leage of the universe), becasue it has the mainstream-ish heroes. But there is also the Irregulars (like Outsiders), the First Family (like Fantastic Four), the first incarnation of the Honor Guard (like JLA/JSA mix, which is getting more publicity with the current Dark Age), The Crossbreed (like X-men), The Pyramid (like Hydra/Kobra), The Unholy Alliance (like a mini-IL, or a frearsome five)
I do want a good mix though, consisting of characters who were the focus on certain stories:
- Samaritan: from Honor Guard (Superman-like)
- Winged Victory: Unaffiliated (Wonderwoman-like)
- Confessor: Astro City Version of mysitcs, maybe "Shadow Hill" (like Bloodstorm Batman)
- Noah: from the Crossbreed (like Storm, but with Xavier-like leadership)
- Rex: from the First Family (like The Thing)
- Demolitia: from the Unholy Alliance: villain
- Jack-in-the-Box (like Batman if his "theme" was to perplex like the joker instead of imposing fear like a Bat)
Honorable Mentioned: Steeljack or Looney Leo.... very fun characters, but Steeljack would be like an Aging Colossus (not as eficient... low AV, etc) and Leo a Pog
hmm thats a hard one i would proly go BPRD, Grendel, 2099 then the rest kuz i dont know anything about the other two but the grendel and BPRD are prity mutch even in my book B^)
