Clix vs. Comix TOC! 81-85pts. Round 2 Match 5: GHOST RIDER VS. GREEN LANTERN
Arwyn has a 2 vote lead over Metiorite right now. Will she keep it? That's up to you.
I was playing Heroclix one day. While building my team, I looked at my selection for 103pts characters and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.
That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!
Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO or a 1 minute complete incapacitate, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation or for the terrain to dispose of them). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)
When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.
I would like to thank Whoclix for the bios, ‘cause I could never write ones like that myself.
Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.
With out further delay…
Ghost Rider
Eliminated by: Flash
FF, 85
vs. Green Lantern
CJ, 81
Terrain: Ballooniaby Gargantua
This strange land seems to be made entirely of brightly colored balloons. Balloon trees, balloon clouds, balloon animals. Everything is slightly translucent, so even if one were to stand behind a tree, their form, if not the details would still be visible. While objects can be picked up, they are too soft and bouncy to hurt anyone. They can be popped though to make a loud noise. The ground is like a giant moonwalk, though no amount of effort will pop the ground.

Ghost Rider vs. Green Lantern:
GHOST RIDER (Johnny Blaze)
Thanks to a deal with the devil Mephisto, stuntman Johnny Blaze became supernaturally bonded to the demon Zarathos - the spirit of vengeance. When possessed, Blaze's head becomes a flaming skull and he can command hellfire which can take the form of a mystical motorcycle which can travel up and over any surface. The hellfire can also be used to burn both body and soul. While Ghost Rider was a member of both the short-lived Champions and Midnight Sons, he mostly chooses to work alone.
GREEN LANTERN (John Stewart)
Hand-picked by Hal Jordan to be his successor, John Stewart butted heads with his superiors, but served heroically as a member of the Green Lantern Corps. He married a fellow GL, Katma Tui, and the two moved to Earth when the Corps disbanded. However, their happiness was short-lived when Katma was killed by Star Sapphire. His greatest failure came when his overconfidence in his power ring allowed the planet Xanshi to be destroyed. To make amends, John spent time as the protector of Mosiac, a patchwork world created by a mad guardian. Leaving Mosiac, he joined the Darkstars only to be crippled by Grayven. He found solace as an architect and thanks to Hal Jordan, has regained the use of his legs. After Kyle left Earth, John now serves as Earth's Green Lantern. The amazing power ring enables John to fly into space and create any emerald construct he can imagine.
I would like to remind everyone (since we ALWAYS seem to have this problem), that this is Johhny, not Daniel GR. That means no chains, and no pennence stare, but instead the sould burning fire.
If it was Danny I'd be completely voting against GL (that whole guilt over destroying an entire planet thing ), but against Johnny I have to vote for John. The GL ring is more powerful that Johnny.
GL is likely to stand perfectly still and let Ghost Rider burn him up. At least that's what happens in my mind. Then one of the balloons turns into Anjelina Jolie and they ride off into the sunset.
WTF just happened?
Anyway, Stewart has mobility and raw power to take out Blaze.
My reluctant vote: Green Lantern
"There is good and there is evil, and evil must be punished. Even in the face of Armageddon I shall not compromise in this."
-Rorschach, Watchmen
Wow...low votes. I guess I'll toss a vote in for John. Still, that heelfire might be able to do a real number on him due to planet being destroyed thing, but his overwhelming power advantage will secure it. My vote...
GREEN LANTERN
Im voting for GL as well, and as cool as Ghost Rider is, Id take GL over Danny Ketch as well. The Penance Stare is a great power, though he needs you to literally be right in front if his face to use it. GL will spend the entire time in the air, and last time I checked GR couldnt fly. The Penance Star has No Range, if anything this version, with Hellfire blasts, would be better equipped to handle a flying foe. But a GL of Stewarts power is simply too strong for GR to handle, not to mention the balloon terrain should hurt his mobility while it wont affect the flying GL in the least.
My Vote - GL John Stewart

I'll throw another vote Green Lantern's way. Ghost Rider will probably not be able to get through his defenses, and the ring's a powerful enough weapon that John should be able to bring down Ghost Rider, especially if the terrain does anything to limit his mobility.
