Poring's Actors TOC: SHWs R2 M4: PATRICK STEWART vs. DAVID BOWIE
Well, at this stage, the votes are very low in number, but thus far Tim Curry has a 2 vote lead over Ian McDiarmid. Whether this lead can be held, or will an upset occur, is entirely up to YOU.
So without further adieu, I give you your next SHW battle in:
David Bowie (The Hunger, The Labyrith, The Man Who Fell To Earth)
VS.
Patrick Stewart (X-Men Series, Star Trek: TNG Series, Dune, Excalibur)
And our Randomly Chosen Arena for this Event:
Mustafar (from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith) – A world filled with molten lava and volcanic rock. A world of scorching heat and deathly flames. There are several areas of metallic factories and buildings all over, each protected from this worlds conditions by a powerful force field, which make surviving and working on this world possible. Though the slightest of damages to many of these areas will cause its force fields to malfunction, letting loose this planets volcanic substances to arise and overtake these once protective metal fortresses. Once this is done, only the most agile or most durable have a chance of surviving this world of molten death.
Id like to take a second to thank Magnito for his many amazing terrains during this SHW TOC, Grinner for creating these randomly generated match ups and Lurker for allowing me to peak in on these TOCs during my working day. Thanks guys.
Which of these combatants will be the next to move to Round 3, and which will be the first to Fall? As always, that is entirely up to YOU.
Thanks all, and lets hope this is the first of many cool matches in this series of TOCs.

I would vote, but I didn't even know that Bowie had been in a single movie until this TOC started, nevermind 3, so I know nothing about his characters. Does he have any kind of mental resistance that we know about?
Neither of them will be particularly nerfed by the heat of the terrain, as Bowie has his alien physiology and Stewart has his Fremen stillsuit. Mobility *will* be an issue, though, as Stewart isn't getting around all that well even if we take him out of the wheelchair. Barring an instant telepathic KO, Stewart doesn't have a chance. And I don't see Bowie as the type who would open himself up to that. His brain would be a mixture of alien, vampire, and goblin grey matter - not exactly friendly territory for a telepath. If he were going up against Chris Reeve, we'd see Patrick Stewart in round three (owing to Superman's history of being an all-day sucker for mind controllers). But Bowie need only teleport in, do some hand jive with a crystal ball, and reverse the gravity plane on Stewart. We'll see how Picard does without a spaceship when he's 25 miles above this planet's surface. David Bowie to advance.
I'm wondering if Picard's familarity with alien races and general access to advanced knowledge/technology would help in regards to his ability to attack Bowie's mind...I'm really not sure that Chuck won't be able to just take him out.
Xavier has really only shown difficulty messing with alien minds of beings who are prepared to fight mentally, or have some defenses against it. If none of Bowie's characters have anything in regards to mental defenses than I'm going to say theres a better chance that Xavier will be able to mentally attack him.
Xavier for the win.

So, I don't know if it was mentioned yet, but can Stewart call on his time as a Borg? Also, what all buy guy roles does he have?
I mention this because I think that Stewart can adapt to Bowie's mind well enough. But, without a ruthless character to make Patrick take out his opponent quickly, Bowie can teleport in and do his work.
This is not the greatest quote in the world, this is just a tribute.
I think Ill go with Bowie for the moment, more because of Bowies mobility advantage (though I would say Stewart can walk just fine here), and the fact that he possesses a high level Alien/Goblin/Vampire combination mind, something that might prove a bit difficult for even Xavier to get a hold of and manipulate. I could certainly be swayed, as I think a full phaser blast could certainly take down (or severely damage) what Bowie is bringing toughness wise, and theres certainly a chance for Xavier to keep tabs on Bowies mind, if not outright control, he may be able to locate him at all times.
Hmmmmm, very close one to me, but I think Ill go David Bowie for now.

i'll go with the goblin king for the win. he can phase as well as teleport and in the concept book for the movie it was stated that the goblin king had lived in the labyrinth for thousands of years. I think is strength of will will be enough to hold out long enough for him to get in close and then it's all over.

Yeea, I didn't respond at first because I wanted to hear arguments, but I don't think telepathy will take out a magic user of that level. Picard and his Dune role give him some skill and nice weaponry (weirding module, phaser), but more MW level stuff, not enough against a reality-warper.
And I'll note even though people are being slow to respond, this tourny has a pretty nice turnout overall! (15 votes is the highest we've gotten in awhile)
Too many good arguments for Bowie here, I can't see Stewart defending too well against magic. A phaser isn't going to do the job here (technically capable perhaps but who ever gets shot by one of those except minions) and who knows where Bowie will be half the time, he'll have a hard time putting any telepathic control over Bowie. One more vote for David Bowie from me.
