Clix vs. Comix TOC! 111-120, Round 1 Match 2: COLOSSAL BOY VS. HULK
Green Hulk's first official appearance!
I was playing Heroclix one day. While building my team, I looked at my selection for 103pts characters and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.
Thus, the Clix vs. Comix TOC was born! Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!
Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO or 1 minute complete incapacitate, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation or for the terrain to dispose of them). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)
When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.
I would like to thank Whoclix for the bios, ‘cause I could never write ones like that myself.
Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.
With out further delay…

Terrain: Banshee Cityby michiganj24
A city populated entirely by screaming Banshees. Although they will not harm the contestants the constant wailing and screaming can be extremely disorienting
COLOSSAL BOYWikipedia
Originally from a race of giants, Gim Allon has the special ability to shrink down to six feet in height. He joined the Legion of Superheroes as "Micro Lad" but was soon rechristened Colossal Boy. At his full height of Gim has stronger than human strength.
HULKWikipedia
When Rick Jones wandered onto the gamma bomb testing range, Dr. Robert Bruce Banner rushed out to save him. Banner was caught in the blast and the gamma rays caused him to transform into the super-strong Hulk whenever he became enraged. Gamma rays were also responsible Hulk's foes such as the Leader and Abomination. Although never a team player, he has been both a Defender and Avenger. Over the years, Hulk's intelligence has gone from mindless to the super-intelligent "professor" Hulk and back again.
I think we've seen this fight before........Hulk vs. Giant Man.
Colossal Boy doesn't strike me as having any sort of powers or abilities to keep him in this fight any longer than Hank Pym did. Hulk is going to be a lot stronger than he is, and when you consider having a little angry man jumping around your body and hitting you harder than you can hit it, and getting TOUGHER and STRONGER when you do, you're going to fall, hard.
I think theres barely a reason to vote, I cant think of a single instance where the hulk can be beaten here. I vote the Hulk.
Zapp Brannigan: Rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock! And scissors cuts paper! Kif, we have a conundrum. Search them for paper! And, bring me a rock!

Gotta disagree with this one, especially if you're talking about the Ultimates.
Gim has actual combat training, which Pym lacks. Gim flies, which Pym doesn't. Gim has actually fought powerful opponents and doesn't have the stupid overconfidence that Pym had.
Not that any of this is going to change the actual outcome of the match Just saying that Colossal Boy will put up a better fight than Pym.
Yeah but mean and green is stronger, and seemingly tougher (plus seems to ramp up faster) then Ultimate Hulk.
He's also now got some mad gladatorial skills to go with his awesome gama induced rage.
Just as a question, should we consider things from planet Hulk (ie his new found combat training for instance)? He's weaker then normal due to the planet (but is rapidly approaching his normal power), but still obliterated a non cosmic blasting Silver Surfer.
It wouldn't be an upgrade or change in powers, but would be an upgrade in skill.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
This reminds me of the Ultimates vs The Hulk, when Hulk jumped into Giant Mans mouth and nearly ripped his jaw off. Yes, I know, Green Hulk isnt as nasty and vicious as Ultimate Hulk, but the outcome of this battle will definately be the same. Not sure what physical bricks we have in this Division, but the Green Hulk is easily up there regardless (Id say in HC forms, only the Savage Hulk is a more powerful version, unless they made the Maestro in HC?)
My Vote - The Hulk

I feel like I have to give Colossal Boy his props. Grinner has it right about Gim vs. Hank Pym. If Hulk hit Pym, Pym would panic and fold like a paper towel. If Gim gets hit by Hulk, it'll knock him down, but Gim will come back out swinging.
I think Colossal Boy could take the Hulk maybe 25% of the time, which means my vote goes to the Hulk.
Colossal Boy *MIGHT* be able to win if he hits very hard, very fast, and uses his flight to help hit even harder.
A very big 'might', even for combat-trained Gim.
Also, look at the terrain: A whole bunch of *yelling people*. That's going to piss off Hulk a ton and reduce the chances from low to none, since Hulk's going to be pissed before the two even meet.
Gim might as well use his shrinking powers and get this over with faster.
Okay... Hulk walks out and hits on Colossal Boy. Colossal Boy hits back and Hulk gets pissed. Now Colossable Boy has a big, green, super-ripped killing machine coming after him.
To answer Maniac, since that happened since IC was made, then no, no planet Hulk. Just calssic mean green, super invunerable, strong, savage, Hulk.
That being said, the only Legionaire falls early it seems. Green Hulk has been a long time comming and easily takes Round 1. 5 minutes of prep and a bunch of Banshee's, he should be mighty Hulked up by the time they meet. My vote...
HULK
