Prepping for a tournament again. I am more than anything getting myself prepared just in case I can go to a tournament. Here is the scenario
1 = 1-50 Ultimate Spiderman Rookie (Pounce+Vault)
2 = 51-100 Emil Blonsky LE (Protected)
3 = 101-150 Kalibak Unique (Protected)
4 = 151-200 Man of Steel LE
5 = 201-250 Savage Hulk (Protected+Vendetta+Haymaker+Lucky Break+Armor piercing+Damage Shield)
6 = 251-300 Nimrod Unique (auto-Regeneration+protected+Lucky Break+Swingline)
Please realize that I know I could use some different figures in here, but my personal rule for this one is I must NOT have ever played the figure. Tough for you to give me advice I know, but still feel free. (Hint I have already used superman before and every version of Green Lantern other than the one listed-I am thinking of using Mongul instead of Man of Steel or maybe Darkseid-If you have played Man of Steel let me know if he is even worth playing or should I go with Mongul or Darkseid)
The Man of Steel is one of the nastier pieces in the game in my opinion. The opening click of hypersonic speed is devestating, especially when used with the defend (strike out at the oponent, and then run back and use defend to protect your medic or your even your secondary attacker.
The only problem I see, is if you are not able to put protected on him (because of the format) or some back up pieces, he can be a little fragile. He is consistenly good through out his dial, so if he does take damage he can still be very useful.
If you don't go with MOS, I would definately go with Darkseid. His 12 range is insane, and his mid dial bump makes him scary to attack.
How about haymaker on Darkseid? Make him real scary to base, and almost impossible to outrun. Lucky Break would probably be a good investment to protect against the crit. miss.

yes that is a very useful on darkseid. makes him a one,two punch all wraped up in one character.
Satan quit trying to fool me!!

QUOTE]I was gonna make some different suggestions until I read the scenario. The pounce on spidey is an even a better idea given the scenario. I'm not keen on Emil, but not knowing what you can play makes giving a suggestion difficult. Haymaker on a figure in that price range would be good though. I think MoS is a better choice than Darkseid or Mongul especially with the late dial flurry and defense bump. Slippery on Green Lantern is interesting, but you could also get divebomb, LMD, forcefield or even indomitable. Just some other ideas. Good luck.
Man of Steel is an amazingly brilliant piece. Put some Life Model Decoy on him. It makes his Defend clix tougher, and gives him some DR even if they outwit his powers, and works against PB and EW.
Hair11 and counting!
