He's the most powerful, but least mobile incarnation of the Thing.

The Grey hulk beat him once (think Mutant Mayham Veteren Hulk).
The comic fight looked like the Thing Chased the Hulk around, constantly pushing while the hulk leaped away. The Hulk finally choked Thing out under water.

Yeah, I've read that fight in a Hulk TPB. The Thing was actually much stronger at the time and quite nearly won, but Dr. Doom stepped in and helped out Fixit. He pointed out that even though Ben was physically stronger he still suffered from fatigue, something that the Fixit was much more resistant to. Basically Fixit switched to hit & run tactics and wore Ben out. That was a really good fight.
