On the other hand, Obsidian "flash"-blasted by heat vision is going to feel the pain from the light (especially if Superman focuses his vision more in the UV-spectrum which Dr. Mid-Nite proved is harsh on Obsidian). Even if Superman ends up briefly mind-controlld, J'onn should be able to free him pretty handily.

Of course, Kara could kill J'onn in a heartbeat. She has heat vision. Granted she might not use it off the bat, but she could easily kill him.

J'onn no longer has the extreme vulnerability to heat; heck, he even went into a building where some fellow Martians were burning to death and managed to do okay through it (and that would've definitely had "emotional impact" which is more of the strength of the flame weakness than actual flame).

You do know that Superman is hesitant about fighting J'onn right? Plus the mind control and Psy blast are enough to make Kara not hit him with the heat vision.

1) Superman's not fighting J'onn, it's Evil Kara. She knows half the DCU like the back of her hand and wouldn't hold back against any of the JLAer's [again].
2) I have heard so many times that J'onn is hesitant to use his telepathy.
3) Regarding J'onn's resistance to fire, Kara can still beat the tar out of J'onn. She probably would have killed him if her good half hadn't interfered.

Obsidian in this terrain is a scary nasty combatant that can take whoever he is vs'ing in my opinion and the best oponent for him here is Martian Manhunter. Lobo has been shown to be a match for superman on multiple occasions and Kara would beat Blackbolt in this terrain where he is not going to unleash. T-Bird can help other matchups.

My vote: Team Lobo

I think its rediculous for anyone to say "in this terrain where he won't use his voice". He isn't EVER going to use his voice while members of his team are still alive, and even if it was just him he still wouldn't use his voice readily. Its just about as far out of character as you get.

It's not ridiculous. We've seen him whisper at hulk in the preview for world war hulk when his wife was by his side. So, not ridiculous as he's done it in the comics.

All we know is that he whispered. We have no idea why he whispered, besides the fact that an enraged Hulk was after him. There could have been several reasons before that caused him to whisper.

Hell, when the humans were destroying his city he didn't so much as whisper at all. And they were absolutely demolishing Attilan.
