how to beat din fang foom?
we'll be battleing the 1200 points version of fin fang foom this saturday...
this will be my first time against a collosal fig.
I think we'll play 300/400 points teams.
now I know you can't hide in stealth or behind another fig... and you can't mastermind his damage, and you can't do a lot of other things.
taking in consideration he only attacks after being damaged, he will never attack on his first click, am I right?
I think barriers will be a huge assets along with perplex, PC and hyperspeed and high AV's.
I was planning to field an hss brick and hide behind a barrier.
I counted the squares, and I think FFF can't reach with his 10 range the last row ( 24th row) cause he is in the middle, he is able to see from row 1 to 23 or 2 to 24, in that case you can snipe him with figs with 10+ range and he can't retaliate, is this correct?
a rules question, what happens if foom can't see the fig that just hitted
him?
what would you play in a 300/400 team against the collosal fig?
thanks!
I started playing heroclix at a shop... the moment my girlfriend got tired and told me "stop telling me I cant atack because you have I-don't-know-what, and I can't move there cause I don't have that thing"...

Having played as and against Foom, I can say each time Foom fell (or flew away) tho both times were highly entertaining and fun games. Foom lost both times, most often all the surviving fig were on their second to last or last clicks. Pretty much you need high AV and a healer.
Everybody knows that if you REALLY want to get a lady all hot and bothered, you use Febreze.

My advice: high attack pieces and as many bonuses to hit as you can.

I figured that with Foom's high attack, I wouldn't need to concentrate on the defense values of my figures as they're probably going to get hit anyway. Take figures with defensive abilities like Impervious and Super Senses sure, but when Foom's got a 15 attack, it doesn't really matter if your defense is 17 or 13 -- he's still only going to miss on double ones. So concentrate on your chances to hit and damage him.

Use the Alpha Flight feat card to give any Avengers you have the +1 against Foom. I played Vendetta on the Infinity Challenge unique Wolverine and deemed Foom his arch-enemy for the bonus to hit. The Thundering Blow feat (if you have it), could come in handy too.

I played a bunch of 50-60 point figures with high attacks and Blades and did pretty well.
In Golden Age, I don't always play a Brute theme team, but when I do, I play IC 155 Knuckles.

I have thought about a bunch of cheap high AV B/C/Fangers like cheeta woverine and sabretooth... but the thing is... they will be get smoked after one hit...
