Hello people. Just need some feedback on this idea for a new Feat Card.
Maybe it sucks, maybe it's good. Let me know!
Still working on the Title and Modifier but this is where I'm at :
Title: Suprise Defense
Modifier: +1 Range (maybe +2, not sure)
This character has the opportunity to use barrier during your opponents turn.
You cannot use barrier as a reaction to a move, or action made by an opposing team member. The action to use barrier must take place before your opponents turn, or between actions of the opposing forces. This character may use barrier even if he/she has two tokens on them. If the character has more than zero tokens on them taking pushing damage to use ‘Surprise Defense’ and loses barrier, then the barrier remains.
Cost: 15 or 20 depends on game testing…..
A costly chance for extremely tactical player to strategically use barrier. This allows people to use barrier as a way to guard against what they can see happening. But they cannot use it DURING the action of the opposing teams actions only BETWEEN actions! Losing barrier on the dial does not mean the barrier comes down till the end of that turn. And barrier can only be used if it is showing on the dial.
CANNOT DO: a player cannot use this barrier feat to block a line of fire when the opponent has said “I’m going to take a shot on that character” or “I’m going to outwit this person”
Once these things are declared, they cannot be interrupted by this new feat.
CAN DO: A great use for this would be to push a barrier figure for a great surprise. Lets say the figure with barrier is way behind the rest of your force. And you see the opposing team is getting close to use running shot. Then move up your figure with barrier, and then during the opponents turn you can declare you are using the Feat and set up a defense.
Or- you can use it to tie down a figure who is just to powerful by putting the for barrier tokens around them. Like a KC figure
I figured the cost would be due to the range increase+ its the only card you can make an action during another players turn, you can push no matter how many tokens, and you can keep barrier if you lose it on the dial. But, then again we need more feedback. Thanks for the imput
that card probally wouldnt be allowed because it is completly useless and unfair .... it is barrier all the time ... how would that be worthy of a feat that people would lik to use and wouldnt mind playing agaisnt ... it is just a bad idea ... no offense
It is extremely useful, I'm guessing you dont play much. Unfair....that's balanced by how many points in a game it takes up to use. If it were 5 points then yes, VERY unfair. But at 15-20 points you wont be seeing it much unless people use it well. Barrier, when used correctly can mean ALOT. Saved my butt many times and I've seen people win because of it. But, this is a way to bring it back into the game because it's died down in use. Mostly because the game has under gone many changes over the past year. Nontheless I see your point, I just think your response lacks game experience.
