I absolutely love this figure. He is as beastly as Superman should be. My only complaint it that the sculpt could be a little better.
To give you an idea of how awesome he is, a couple of weeks ago I played him in a 800 pt. 4-way free-for-all. Some of the other beasts on the map were HA Thor, SI Iron Man, Green Scar, SI Dr. Strange, SI Thing, Deathstroke... you get the idea. I slapped Lazarus Pit on Superman and just rushed him into battle. He took on Green Scar and Thing on at the same time and won! He later went on to KO Iron Man, Volstagg, and Dr. Strange.
With just a "little" luck on my rolls and teaming him up with Lamp post Batman, they easily became a 2-man army. Love this fig!
We play some very informal games at a local comic shop. last week i finaly got my Sup 100, and we played a 4 player game no points, where you pick 3 huge bricks, and 3 support pieces, there were bricks like both marvel and d/c Ares, K/C Green Lantern, Superman Prime, Shazam and Black Adam, Ragnarok Surtur, Metron, etc. for support pieces one player picked , black hand, martian manhunter, and Kal-el black lanterns. I used 2 destinys for their probabilty controll, and crisis nightwing for perplex, leadership and to stealth my destinys, -- back to the point, i dont think crisis superman 100 can be killed if you have 2 probility control, he owned the show, the only strategy i employed was to make sure my pc' could targes sup 100. I mean really, on the turn after you push him to base ares, you get a free attack (Close Combat) then you claer him. he will be my favorit piece forever, well worth the 130$ I paid for him.
I agree with DarkLord's assessment... while it is an impressive piece, it's absolutely no fun to play against- he's too much... "like trying to drown water."
While I see this comic accuracy as low (Emo-Boy Prime whiped the floor with him) this piece is just Godly. And not in a good way. Put him on the table, slap the opponents pieces off the map and declare your win. This piece takes little to no skill to achieve greatness with. But in the hands of a good player, trying to kill him is like trying to drown water.
I used to fear this figure more than Thor and Loki duo because with the things used to be played, Fortitude was almost a given to be put on this guy, which eliminated the advantage of Thor and Loki having Invulnerability as a trait, so it couldn't be outwitted. Now, in Modern Age, I feel a little more confident about my chances against this guy with the ability to Outwit his defenses, but still... that just brings my confidence level up to just wetting my pants instead of completely soiling myself at the sight of him like it used to be.
So much beef. This guy really scared my buddies last night that he got the #### knocked out of him in both a Modern and Golden Age format. But man was he a joy to play. In Modern he does suffer quite a bit if you go up against an outwit heavy team. With Golden Age if played right(Fort, Haymaker, Shellhead) he's just UNGODLY. A charge for 10 movement, 11 attack, 7 damage and NO penalty because of his trait? Yes please thank you may I have another. Oh and next turn I'll start by smacking someone else for 5 and then I'll either charge again, or just haymaker again for 7, then get +2 with shellhead, thanks!!
I played him on a Justice Society Team so I didn't have much outwit with the golden age, so Psychic Blast still sucks.
I'vce heard multiple people say that the KC supes can do 14 clix of damage. For people that have actually red the card it clearly states you can carry two objects if they are both STANDARD objects. and even then, one hit with a meteorite from E-2 supes for a possible 5-9 clix of penetrating damage, will practicly make KC a piece of charcoal.
If this is considered E2 from Infinite Crisis is too powerful he couldnt take regular superman one on one and the 2 of them barely beat prime and E2 died in the process.
As for the figure with modern age its too easy to outwit that defense and go to town on him probably hitting him past that 20 defense. People whine and cry when you play him but really in the current setting he is not overly powerful at all not starting with HSS hurts him as well but the team ability is very nice for dealing with those pesky stealthed outwitters if they are within range.
The game is very anti 200 Plus point figures now and thats what hurts him the most with no feats anymore to help him a smaller more effecient team is going to take him apart piece by piece.
I agree to that. Played him in a 3 player match. 1000 point golden age. I played Earth-2 and Zen-Hatten as my beatsticks, and a bunch of supporters(2 enhance, 2 medics, telekinesis) And played in contact with Oracle with the Oracle on the card on both Earth-2 and Zen-hatten. One person played a sinestro corps team led by the Guardian of Fear at rookie level. The other person played a team devoted to Spiderman. Including Cosmic Spidey. I killed Guardian of Fear in one turn! Earth-2 charged with meteriorite (Guardian used first turn to phase to in front of my starting area)(but left about 3 squares for range) and dealt full dmg, plus the buffs to dmg from oracle. Then Zen blasted Guardian of Fear for 7 dmg(2 enhance and rolled a crit)(not a psy blast i know guardian of fear ignores it) KO'd him in ONE turn. Then cosmic spidey annoyed the crap out of me with hypo. I eventually caught him with Earth-2. It was tough to hit him, but one hit from Earth-2 and he goes to crap! Especially when he has Earth-2 basing him and he lost his hypo. That free attack really helps. :D mwahahaha
