A few days ago I started a thread aking about the new Squadron Supreme mini that has started. After some very helpful info I discovered that this wasnt the Squad Supreme I know (glasses having Hyperion, and Rainbow Suit Dr. Spetre) but the re invisioning of it. My local comic shop is having a huge sale ( upto 90% off) and I have decided to get the old Squad supreme stuff that i missed. What I need is a total Issue list of everything that has been Written on this new Squad supreme world... ANy of you learned folk know what i need.
youre looking for the "supreme power" series then following that squadron supreme 1- by JMS. then theres squadron supreme: hyperion vs nighthawk.
as a big squadron fan i still have to make sure youve read the best, thats the gruenwald limited series of the mid 80s, thats the squadron yer more familiar with
supreme power is the ultimates crossover right ? 9 issues or somthing
the jms thing is that a 1 shot ... ?
sorry no i forgot. the 7 issues (it was an ongoig, but JMS just sorta stopped) was Supreme Power. then came the hyperion vs nighthawk mini then there was ultimate power, that was the crossover, that sets up why ult nick fury is in the new book.
there was also a "squadron supreme saga" which was released at the start of the JMS ongoing "squadron supreme" but its just a recap/rehash of previous stuff
and i cant more strongly recommend the classic gruenwald 12 issue mini series
You need nothing written by hack writer JMS. The Supreme Power (and all it's tie-ins) was an eXtreme disapointment. Stick to the real Squadron Supreme...it is all you need.
"..my "snarky attitude" was an attempt to point out the silliness of using a circular definition to define what you deem unjustified.."-vlad3
If you want it all, start with Supreme Power, the Doctor Spectrum mini, the Hyperion mini, the Nighthawk mini, Squadron Supreme, Nighthawk vs. Hyperion, then Ultimate Power and finaly the new Squadron Supreme. The Doctor Spectrum mini takes place roughly after issue 2 of Supreme Power, the Hyperion mini is (I think) between Supreme Power and Squadron Supreme, while the Nighthawk mini can fit in anytime. Hyperion vs Nighthawk takes place between Squadron Supreme and Ultimate Power.

TOTALLY disagree. JMS may have wrecked Spider-Man, but Rising Stars and Midnight Nation are spectacular. I think Supreme Power is excellently written, beautifully drawn. Unfortunately, it all goes downhill after that.
I believe this is the complete list of series:
Supreme Power Doctor Spectrum miniseries Nighthawk miniseries Hyperion miniseries Hyperion versus Nighthawk miniseries Squadron Supreme Ultimate Power miniseries
Anyone should feel free to correct me.
I absolutely love Supreme Power and the way it deconstructs the Superman mythos in particular. I was even enjoying Squadron Supreme before JMS lost interest. I bought issue 1 of the new SS series and I think I'm done.
