So today, I go to pay for an ebay purchase with paypal.

My password doesn't work so I go to paypal, send myself the "forgot password" e-mail, and change my password.

I check my history to make sure no shenanigans are on. There is no history at all.

So I go to ebay, attempt to log on to paypal with my new password and it prompts me for my credit card info.

Tried to call paypal, but their offices are closed until Monday...

Is this odd?

if you followed the link in the e-mail instead of manually typing in the URL for paypal and logging in that way then you've probably been compromised.

Yeah, I never go to paypal via e-mail links.

I'm wondering if someone hacked my e-mail. It seems like they could operate my paypal pretty easily if they did.

I did call my credit card company: No odd paypal stuff so far...

It certainly could be something funky. I'd keep an eye out on my credit card and contact Paypal as soon as you can on Monday.
I haven't changed my password so I don't know how this normally works after that. Maybe somebody else here has changed their password and had a similar experience and can share with you.
