Due to the closing of Wizkids, we've not been able to get as many figures as we have in years past so we'll not be running our world famous KO n Keep event this year. Darius_Dax1 and I sat down and came up with a way to still keep the feel of the event but run it a little differently. This year we will be running a few scenerio events which should be fun for all involved.
PC for a buck will still be in effect. Each event will likely last for 2 1/2 hours.
Marvel: Attack on Master Mold!
There's chaos afoot at the Sentinel Manufacturing Plant. Word has gotten out that the programming for the next wave of Mutant Hunting Robots has expanded its search parameter to inclide and and all signs of super powers. As such, the hero and villian populace of the world have devised a hasty plan to take down the plant. Little do they know that production is fuher along than planned and a veritable army of Sentinels await them.
Each player will bring a 500 point Unrestricted "Theme Team", 10 figure maximum, only two feat allowed per force. Players can use the non-generic keywords as a guide for making teams but we are asking players to get back to the roots of the charatcers for this event.
Judges will be running a Sentinel army. This will include both Sentinels produced to date plus all figures tied to the Sentinel mythos.
Player's forces may NOT include any of the following figures for this event:
Sentinel Mark I/III/VII
Advanced Sentinel Alpha-3/Beta-7/Omega-4
Ahab
Bastion
Hound
Nimrod
Sentinel Trooper
Sentinel Captain
Wild Sentinel BST
Players will be awarded 10 points per click inflicted on each of the
judge's figures and an additional 50 points for the KO.
Once a judge's figure is KOed, it will respawn in the judges starting area to simulate the endless supply of Killer Robots.
The players will also have a respawning trait known as The LMD
Effect. Once a player looses a character, they may pay $1 to have the KOed character reappear in their starting area - "That wasn't the real
Wolverine, it was an LMD!!"
DC: Attack of the Sinestro Corps
Each player will bring a 500 point unrestricted "Theme Team", ten
figure maximum, two feat per force. Players can use the non-generic keywords as a guide for making teams but we are asking players to get back to the roots of
the characters for this event.
Judges will be running a Sinestro Corps army. This will include multiple Sinestro Constructs, SCAM plus any figure tied to the Sinestro Corps mythos.
Player's forces may NOT include any of the following figures for this event:
Amon Sur
Arkillo
Batman (AA100)
Cyborg Superman
Fatality
Yrra Cynril
Grodd (AA104)
Lyssa Drak
Manhunter (Robot)
Manhunter 2.0
Mongul
Yellow Lantern
Anti-Monitor
Sinestro (any version)
Superman Prime
Starro
Players will be awarded 10 points per click inflicted on each of the
judge's figures and an additional 50 points for the KO.
Once a judge's figure is KOed, it will respawn in the judges starting area to simulate the endless supply of Yellow Ring Constructs and Corps
members.
The players will also have a respawning trait known as The Lazarus
Pits. Once a player looses a character, they may pay $1 to have the
KOed character reappear in their starting area - "Batman emerges from
the Lazarus Pit ready to battle again!!"
In order to make it a really cool looking event, I've been in contact
with ibeatdrew from Grid Reality and he's going to design maps
specifically for this event!!!
As for the prizes, the modders of HCRealms have been in the process of making some AWESOME figures to be used as prizes, concentrating on any
figure that has not been made to date but is missing from a team line
up and figures based on our themes. This is the opportunity to get ALL NEW figures into your collection. Why wait for HoT when you've got the chance to get figures NOW!!! We will also be opening the boosters from the entry fees into one large prize pool for everyone to choose from.
If you want to see a little sneak peak of what the modders have been doing, take a look in the Artisan's Guild:
Boy the way GlenQuaqmire played, threads that had Brazil debate, Basil Elks, a beating faked,
those were the days, and you know Sandra Wu San, some thought a girl but really man, We could use a winner like Mysterio_Lives again, didn't need Galactus crates, PowerBOMB! pulls worth the wait, Masada's stories sure were great, those were the days!

What Duane is saying here, if you needed clarification, is that you should try to build a comic-book (or TV/Movie) based theme team. Pick an issue of your favorite Defenders comic or the Justice League live-action TV show...or the X-Men animated series, whatever.

I have a few things I would be happy to send down.
You can either PM me or DS-00-0, FSD to get our addresses. I would prefer you send to DS-00-0, FSD as I have to travel a few hours to get there and even though I plan on attending you never know what might come up.

I really wanted to bust my Yrra Cynril fig out on this thing.
Rats.
You can still bust her out!!
Just a little FYI:
If anyone wants to feel the thrill of being on the other side of the table, we're always open for anyone playing on the Judge's side of the table.
We'll also likely need to borrow extra figures for the Judges to run. If anyone has any of the figures that are listed under the Judges teams that they can bring (especially Sentinels and the Sinestro Constructs), please do so. We can use ID rings to make certain that a player's figures are returned to them at the end of the event.
I'd also like to thank those that have contacted me thus far about giving donations. The generosity of the Realms' members never ceases to amaze me!!
