Well, nobody showed up for this event (probably because we didn't get the posters up in the store in a timely fashion... my bad, guys) so we will reschedule this event as the first event in May. So save the date (Satuday, May 2nd) and bring your reverse dial teams!
The other May events will be posted within the next couple weeks.

Nevermind. I worked it out so that the reverse dial tournament will be the second week of May (schedule above has already been changed).
June is still totally up in the air, though I can assure you that there will be at least one buy-in.

Sorry for the delay, folks, but LOH (life outside of heroclix) caught up with us there for a wee bit. Anyway, we're back on track now for June, July will be posted soon, and Dave has already started a separate thread for the Chase event in mid-july (found here).
June Events for Coliseum of Comics: Downtown Lakeland
JUNE 20th, 3:00 PM
Call in the Cavalry!
How many times have things looked grim for your favorite characters, only to have their friends show up and save the day? Let’s reenact those nail-biting episodes today!
Prizes for first place and fellowship will come from Jeff's personal stash!
The second team may not have more characters than the first team
Full core
The game begins with only your first team in your starting area; the second team is off the map and all powers, TAs, feats, etc associated with the second team are unavailable at the start of the game
If half (or more) of the characters on your first team are defeated, at the beginning of your next turn place the second team in your starting area
If you have an odd number of characters on your first team, round up for determining when to bring in the second team (for example, if you have three characters on your first team, after two are defeated, bring in the second team)
Characters on the second team may be given actions immediately after being placed in the starting area; there is no ‘first turn immunity’ for characters on the second team
Players who defeat their opponent without using their second team will receive an extra 100 victory points
All other normal Heroclix rules are in effect
JUNE 27th, 3:00 PM
WAR!
Great leaders are born, not made... well, if they are Heroclix figures, they technically were made in a factory, but you get the point. In this brutal knockdown, build your team around an inspiring leader and take home the prize!
Prizes for first place and fellowship will come from Dave's personal stash!
The rules for this event are:
400 points, unrestricted
All characters on your team must share a team symbol or keyword
One character on your team must be over 80 points (The Leader)
The rest of your team must be characters 50 points or less
No feats
The character designated as The Leader possess the power Leadership if does not already possess that power

Once more into the breach, clixers! In this event, even character can use the Masters of Evil TA and the Malice BFC is in play every round. So push your characters into the ground to bury your opponent!
Prizes for this event will come from Jeff's personal stash.
The rules for this event are:
200 points, unrestricted
All characters can use the Masters of Evil team ability if they can not already do so; this is in addition to any other team ability the characters can normally use
Masters of Evil ™ A character using the Masters of Evil team ability can be given an action when it has two action tokens on it. If it does, do not give an action token to the character after the action resolves; instead, deal it 1 unavoidable damage. At the end of your turn, do not remove action tokens from a character that has been given a non–free action and used this team ability during that turn.
The Battle Field Condition "Malice" is in play every round and may not be cancelled
Malice At the end of each player's turn, if none of his or her characters made an attack against an opposing character, that player chooses a friendly character and deals it 1 unavoidable damage.
We've had a lot of low-ish point games lately, so how about giving the big boys a shot? While there is no minimum point value for this event (you can play a swarm if you want), the limited number of actions per turn will favor the big guns!
Prizes for this event will come from Jeff's personal stash.

we need more of the regular unrestricted battles. we use just our figures and whatever strategy we can come up with, no special scenario to give certain teams a boost. the best games are the simplest, and we would be able to use our pieces to their full potential and the compatibility of our pieces would be much easier to acomplish. but these tourneys are very enjoyable. i also love the pick a universe to represent battles, those are fun and only have mild restrictions.
Just out of curiosity, who are you? The screen name doesn't ring a bell...

Sure, if that's what people want. However, it seemed to me that people got tired really quickly of just plain ol' vanilla 300 or 400 points. But if there is interest in that sort of thing, sure, I'd be happy to do some.
I'd be very hesitant to do a universe restricted game, though. There are some players (myself among them) who only collect Marvel, or don't bother with Indy, etc. If we did, say, a DC only event, there could be some people left out in the cold.
I am wondering, though, what exactly is so restrictive about the tournaments we've had? For example, the first event this month was only 200 points (so no E-2 or Thanos, sure), but other than that you could do whatever you want. Same thing with the 900 point build, you can definitely squeeze just about anything you like into that and the only even sort of restriction is the 4 action part (but with some Leadership and some Avengers/JLA/Brotherhood/etc, even that isn't that big of a deal). I am just really curious if there was maybe one event in particular that stands out as, "No, I definitely didn't like that," or are you just indicating a general preference?

they've been pretty fun tourneys, dont get me wrong, i just think that most places try to add too much to the origonal games. and the universe, like just pick a universe to represent. like you use your marvel favorites, and i could use only dc. and the 900 point battle will be one of the best to go to, itll be pretty awesome. so like maybe once a month there could be a maybe just 400 unrestricted, or 500 or something. the creativity is pretty cool, but the 200 point battle was probably the only one i just didnt like. it was hit or miss, and cheese characters were guarenteed the win. but its all pretty fun
one thing i forgot to mention is the awesomeness of the call in the calvary tournament. that was by far the most fun scenario i have played in. just the right amount of difficulty, and it was just a smash-each-other-in-the-face-cuz-i-can type of battle. but it had a cool effect half way through. so i apologize if i sounded like i was complaining about the tournaments in my first response, i wasnt.
just noticed you asked who i was. yeah, the name was a nickname from school like 4 years ago. im daniel, use the avengers whenever i get the chance. ill make sure you know who i am the week after the chase tourney. i cant make that one, didnt try to sign up
just figured how to edit, otherwise i wouldnt have left three responses. im still new to this
another thought is a kill n keep, i dont know if theyre very popular, but ive never done one, and i think itd be cool. but youre the judge, so its up to you obviously
