Which is going to be better?
So if I am running a figure with high defense, which would you recommend as support:

SR Scarlet Witch 35
Thunderbolt (mystics) 5

or

Fortitude 25
Damage Shield 10
Streak of Luck 5

?

I see advantages to both as a use of 40 pts. of support, I am just wondering which would be better in everyone's opinon: PC to make them re-roll if they can actually hit or Fortitude to keep my damage reducers.

I think there are a lot of factors as to which would be "better"... actual figures you're talking about, actual number you're saying is a "high" defense (as 18 is the new 17), point value of the game, etc.

Can you post the whole team, just leaving that 40 points blank?
95% of Iron Man 3 better be them explaining why he doesn't just call the other Avengers.

It's kind of a bogus question without more information. Will the primary figure need PC help when making attacks?

I'd probably go for Batman instead of Mystics... Scarlet has a fairly short dial, so taking her out can still be worth a click or two of feedback damage. Especially if you push her to get to Barrier.

Or the carry from a helpful flier?

I don't want to post my team because most of the people I will be playing against are on the realms and I don't want to open myself up for the tournament.

High defense = 19 or 20
No carrier but a TK is included
Attack is pretty high (never drops below a 9)
Point value is 400 pt.

If the character has lots of useful powers and damage reducers, I would definately go the Fortitude route, especially if said figure is near 200 points or above. If it's a grounded figure, I'd put Lucky Break on instead of Streak of Luck (just my preference). Or Loner if applicable. And I can think of a hundred feats at 10 points or under that are better than Damage Shield, depending on the character. Protected (8), Maneuver (8), Armor-Piercing (10), Nanobots (10), Shellhead (10), Swingline (10), etc.
Is it restricted or no? Most of those were retired cards....

It is unrestricted, the figure is a flier and is over 225 pts. I'd usually go with Streak of Luck too but can't due to the flying.

The format is all figures must have the Mystics team ability, the Mystic keyword, or the Mystical keyword.

I have two ideas for teams:

275 Ares
18 Dissent
25 Fortitude
5 Loner
10 Damage Shield
5 Streak of Luck
62 Dr. Alchemy
400

(this is the one I was wondering about substituting Scarlet Witch into)

The other is:

234 The Spectre
10 Shellhead
5 Streak of Luck
62 Dr. Alchemy
0 The Society
8 Camouflage
35 Scarlet Witch
5 Thunderbolts
35 Scarlet Witch
5 Thunderbolts

team 2 gives you theme rerolls and double barrier which is usually pretty hepful. Plus, you could potentially get map choice, which is huge.
