I proposed to my Players that we start another league at the store. This league will be starting at the end of July.

The intent is to play the same teams for a period of about 6 months. There will be one tournament every month (in addition to the regular tournaments).

Here are the rules (I will be altering this as the rules get tweaked):

• Must choose one hero and one villain team. The team must be a specific line-up from a specific period in time approved by the Judge.
• 500 points to purchase each Hero and Villain team. Points left-over from the initial purchase will be banked for later.
• No feats to start.
• Each week Players must bring one Hero and one Villain team to meet the point build for that event's games.
• Victory Points will be used to purchase more characters at a rate of 10 victory points to 1 character point. Character points will also be awarded at a rate of 5 character points per game played.
• Feat points will be awarded at a rate of 100 victory points for 1 feat point.
• Feats purchased are specific to a character.
• Feats can only be purchased for each character at a rate of one per character between tournaments.
• Points will be assessed for a bye round as an average of points scored by other Players that round.
• Keyword bonuses are suspended for these events. Instead teams will earn special one-use powers like Probability Control for special achievements.
• Players will be rewarded 10 points for each event they missed. This will count for current Players and future Players.

Bonuses

• Karma Bonus: For each critical miss the Player will receive one keyword theme probability control to be used in following tournaments. This PC roll must follow all the rules for keyword theme probability as if your team shared a keyword.
• Guest Star Bonus: The Player scoring the most critical hits in a tournament will be allowed to use a character not from their pool of characters in a following tournament. No more than one Guest Star Bonus may be used per tournament.
• Origin Bonus: The Player with the worst record will be awarded 10 feat points.
• Recruitment Bonus: The Player with the least points will receive 25 character points.
• Tech Bonus: The Player who scores the most KOs per tournament will be able to use 1 special object in a following tournament. Limit 3 per tournament.
• Advance Planning Bonus: One use of a BFC in a following tournament awarded to Player whose entire force survives each game. Limit 3 per tournament.

Quick question - are we restricted to comic book teams, or does animated stuff count? I'm looking at Legion of Doom from Superfriends. All 13 actually exist as clix. Otherwise the "Society" from Justice League Unlimited.

No. The idea behind the league is like a cross-universe/cross-time setting so teams from different eras could exist in the same time. I would prefer to not see 2 X-Men teams but would not rule it out as the team is what's important here.

You are not restricted to comic books. Movies, cartoons, and TV are all open sources for your teams.
