Sources close to the situation are telling us that chances for the release of HeroClix Hammer of Thor, which Topps planned to release this summer if a buyer could not be found in time (see “’Hammer of Thor’ from Topps?”), have not changed as a result of the Upper Deck-Marvel deal.

I agree with this, I see no reason not release to the set. My concern is that it will be the LAST set release, period.
Just wanted to clear a few things up. The next release is not the last release for HeroClix. UDE does not have license to produce HeroClix, the engine is owned by Topps and will transfer to the new buyer. HoT is not the last Marvel release.
I can't comment on the UDE deal b/c I don't know anything specific beyond what has been said.
As soon as management is ready to talk about the long term aspects of the line you'll be among the first to know about it. From what I've seen, you have nothing to worry about. In fact, I suspect most of you will be pretty happy.
Until then, keep the faith and don't let rumor and assumptions in comments spin their way into facts.

Justin,
Thanks for the quick response and for removing that boomtown rats song - i don't like mondays -

So:
- "Just wanted to clear a few things up." means that he wants a some unknown number of things to remain murky, uncertain, shrouded in mystery, concealed by doubt and embedded with fear. Why would you do this, man? Where were you on the night of the 22nd? Where's Jimmy Hoffa? Who was on the grassy knoll? Where do babies come from?
- UDE does not currently own Clix.
- Everything will transfer to the new buyer, implying that there will be (or there already is) a new buyer and the game will not continue with Topps.
- UDE may be the new buyer, they just don't have the keys to the kingdom yet.
- And since "most of us will be pretty happy" that means we'll get a return to Fantastic Forces level sculpting and painting, and the cards will be printed on actual cardstock. Oh, and Feats will become extinct and some of those last rule changes will be revoked and HSS will go back to the way it was. Cost per booster will also decrease. And there may be free beer - or soda for the little ones. Lots of fried chicken and pie is also a definite possibility.
- And "among the first to know" means that some other site or news outlet is going to get the scoop first.
The secret codes in his other messages made this game so much easier.
I just hope clix comes back so the old ol_Dut comes back. I'm probably reading your post wrong - is it sarcastic? Hahaha sorry I just get the vibe that you are negative lately, and that saddens me!
And when exactly was I striken with this mancrush on ol_Dut?

This is appreciated.

Come play at Brave New World. We'll have fun. There will be yelling and laughing. If you're not having fun, then you're doing it wrong.

Huh? I didn't realize there was a new buyer or at least, not one we know about yet.

Upper Deck should call their game "Click Zero". Just to mess with your heads.
clickzeroclickzeroclixheroclixheroclix...
Seriously, I'll buy a new Marvel minis game the same way I bought Marvel Heroscape: one set, after I waited for it to be discounted, just to use the terrain and figures for modding my Heroclix games. 3D, hexagonal Heroclix rocks.
Justin's sentence, "UDE does not have license to produce HeroClix, the engine is owned by Topps and will transfer to the new buyer." could mean that there is a buyer already lined up OR he's assuming that someone will buy it and 'the new buyer' refers to whomever ends up as the buyer.
