I was playing Heroclix the one day and I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same amount of points. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies and their character cards (if the figure does not have a card, assume there was a custom one made). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig).

(Defense) Elemental Backlash: Cosmic King can use Barrier. When Cosmic King is the target of a successful close combat attack, the attacker is dealt 1 damage after the attack resolves.

Hm. Cosmic King's matter transmutation powers are pretty formidible, but how good is he against mental powers? Can the King's mind controlling powers be the trump the Royal Flush Gang needs to win this?

Hm, King has super charisma that falls into the area of mind control, Queen does illusions.

Cosmic King is the evil counterpart of Cosmic Boy who despite that has transmutation powers instead of magnetic ones, and fires transmutation rays.

You sure about that? Reading up, it sounds like CK's powers are quite different from CB's.

I don't think King's mind control is going to be enough to take down Cosmic King before he can do something horrible to King & Queen.

What about Queen's illusions? King isn't the only one with powers in that duo.

Makes my question on how vulnerable Cosmic King would be to them even more valid. I don't know of any particular defense that he has in that way. I think I'm voting for King & Queen here. Yes, yes I will. Make it official.

I agree with Grinner. Cosmic King is a heavy hitter.

Hm, I'm torn. On the one hand, Cosmic King has enough power to take them, but on the other hand, there's two of them, which gives them a lot better chance than either on their own.

I'm also torn. I think the numbers helps a lot. I'm leaning to the duo, but no vote yet.

The thing is, when you have a ruthless matter transmuter you do more or less have a "one hit kill," so the numbers game switches pretty darned quickly.

Also, he flies. If they fly, they're flying on a card, which will suddenly disappear and send them plummeting to the ground.

Is Cosmic King's transmutation range touch like some versions of Element lad or does it have some range...like other versions of Element lad?
