OK Fogs, My Bats pick is already on record, and I think I'll take the Supes team. I feel like a traitor (Being a big marvel guy) but it's going to be awfully hard for the shield snipers to even touch the big blue boy scout, and even when they do, on a 200 pt team they wont have enough actions to add enough extra damage to really hurt him when they do.
If I was a Vegas bookie I make the odds at Supes minus 7 (Thats 7 figs) but that would depend on your shield team.

Real Superheroes: The Crew of STS-107. Columbia. 02-01-03.
Melissa Y. Stark is in the SHIELD locker room after their closely fought win over the Hydra Team. It's quite a celebration! There's champagne and beer being sprayed around, and cigar smoke is thick in the air.
Melissa: (Yelling over the racket) "I'm here with one of the members of the V Group, a V Trooper who's now being nicknamed 'Lazarus' by his team. Lazarus, the fans have spoken and they've named you MVP of this first round match! How does it feel?"
Lazarus: (Hair being soaked by champagne) "It feels really great Melissa! I Want to thank all the fans that voted for me."
Melissa: "You took QUITE a beating out there today, but you just kept coming back for more! Care to comment?"
Lazarus: "Oh Yeah! First off the Medic Corps did a great job out there today. They took out all the stops, they were even pulling illegal maneuvers to keep us going!" (Team around him explodes in laughter) "But, seriously, there was just no way we were going to let those Nazi Bastar--"
The interview is interupted by a SLAM of the locker room door. Nick Fury, scowling, is being helped into the room by the Sniper.
Fury: "So. Its all fun and games for you punks now, huh? Getting cocked up, getting your mugs on 'Clix Center'? Having a good time right?
FOR WHAT?? We got our @sses handed to us out there today!! We got torn to shreds!! If we had played by the book, we would have lost. LOST! To that clown faced Nazi. Lost.
Know what else? Know who our next round opponent is? Superman. SU-PER-MAN. Think he's drinking beer? Mugging for the camera? No. I don't think so.
So, you know what? Drink it up. Go on... tie one on good. I don't care. Cause you're all - ALL OF YOU - benched for the next fight."
He turns, and with help from the sniper, makes his way out of the locker room and back to the trainer's room.
The Shield team collectively groans after he leaves... "Benched?" "Aw man, I can't BELIEVE it!" "What the hell was that all about? We won didn't we?"
Melissa: "Well, there you have it folks. The entire SHIELD line-up from this fight will be benched for the upcoming bout with Superman. You heard it here first on 'Clix Center'. Back to you guys."
The SHIELD team fought a good fight, but they were helped a LOT by our rules mishap, and Hydra was hurt a lot down the stretch by the poor dice they got from their medic. Honestly, if you guys could have seen the board, I think you'd have agreed that a healthy Skull could have waltzed into the back yard and polished the SHIELDies off.
As you may or may not have noticed earlier, I've decided that an "All Sniper" lineup gives this team the best shot for the W next round. As both opponents fly, they'll never haver to worry about losing RCE. They also have the highest AVs and longest range. We plan to pair them off and spread them out, using the SHIELD team ability, and maybe a little outwit (If we can) to maximize their chances against "The Men of Steel".
So, lets hear who you pick in the next round (Not sure which fight I'll do first)...
BTW, one of Nick Fury's "chew out" lines was going to be - "Think Superman's flirting with reporters?" But then I thought, well, duh...
Batman vs FF- Batman, just cause FF have no Good ranged attackers
Sheild vs superman- Hmm i have to see the line ups first

Hate to nitpick here, but I think the SHIELD medics are women, not men.
Oh, and GREAT write up, by the way.
My picks are, sadly(because I'm a marvel fan all the way), Batman, and once again sadly, Superman.
Batsy simply because of Outwit and leap climb, and Superman just because 1 impervious roll and they can mop up the SHIELDs. Oh well. SHIELD probably has a bigger chance, as they can continuously fire off volleys of 3 damage per turn. 4 if Fury rolls leadership.
I want SHIELD to win, and they might be able to, but I'm being safe with Supes.

Originally posted by Dr. Von Doom Your toxic poisonous gas is strong, sure, but it is NOTHING compared to what Doom can shoot out of his armor! You were destroyed...and Doom will go and urinate on your grave(if Doom can manage to get his weenie out of the armor).
But I thought you could shoot out of your armor and...nevermind.
I really wish I could have seen a pre-match lineup but since my guys won I suppose I've got no worries. (a little hard to win on a flub, but after the Titans I'll take what I can get).
Good work on the write-up. Actually when you suddenly cut things short after Fury's death I thought I was about to see the demise of SHIELD, but was instead happily rewarded with a successful energy explosion attack. Ah, Uncle Sam would be proud. But now that we're into the final four let's see if I can make some steady guesses.
Batman Team vs. FF -- The FF is no slouch, and has the manuverability to avoid the embaressment that plagued Spidey and friends. Do they have what it takes though to deal with the Dark Knight? At the moment I shall say no, but hold a right to analyze the two teams later and change my mind.
SHIELD vs. Superman -- Two targets and a swarm of snipers. I *really* want to see the SHIELD lineup for this one. However, with one outwitter/leadership unit and two big bad beasts who can shrug off a lot of damage the smart money suggests Superman and Steel perform a duet of destruction.
Thor - that is a good point to make. You can always change your minds as long as the picks are in before the fight is posted.
I know a lot of the guys like to do them one at a time, and thats cool, but Falcon Knight cut it a little close last time, and with the way he's looking in the standings, I'm sure he wouldn't have liked missing a pick!
I vote for SHIELD over Superman. Not only is SHIELD the most fun to play (you ever see the expression on a guy's face when you plop a 300 point, 13-man army down in a tourney?), but after Steel gets knocked off his first click, neither of them can kill any of the SHIELD guys in one shot. I think that Steel should be fairly easy to take down, and then it's only a matter of time before Supes goes down. Sure he's the man of Steel, but it'll take two attacks per target to kill them, barring a crit or the use of an object to smash them. He may be able to cut a swath through the team, but he'll be taking 1 or 2 damage most every turn, and that'll get him down, eventually. Just make sure you field a rookie Agent to tie up Supes for a turn or two after Steel goes down I've had opponents drop Vet Things into the midst of my SHIELD teams, and he went down hard. Of course I had a Black Cat, but I'm sure it'll work with enough patience anyway.
As far as FF vs. Batman, I vote FF, but it'll be close, and they'll have to get lucky. Thing will be a major player here, as will Invisible Girl/Woman. She'll be able to taxi Thing up to Batman/Nightwing where he can get the first hit, and at that point he'll have trouble hitting back, even with Outwit, if they still have it (or in Batman's case, get knocked past CCE and back to Outwit). Torch and Fantastic will be a little less useful, but that's Torch and Fantastic for ya.

SHIELD over SuperTeam - I have to agree with the previous poster, SHIELD will wittle Big S and little S down eventually since they can't KO large numbers of SHIELDers at a time. The SHIELD team ability will be the MVP.
FF over BatTeam - The FF will, first chance they get, fly Thing up to Batman (or Nightwing, whoever is at the point) and bring the pain. Nightwing takes one good shot of rock-covered fist-to-face and he's worthless. Bats does come around with CCE but it won't be enough. The fact that the FF has two flyers (this is the Exp. FF right?) to throw Grimm around like a wreckingball will be the difference.
Here's hoping to go 6-0.
I reserve the right to change my mind also.
Great job with the tourney, btw! I am putting off the start of my next tourney so I don't hurt your traffic...or not have any traffic since your tournament is so great! Keep it up!
