Ok local players, here is an event I want to run at the Vault of Midnight:
27-Feb-2010 (Saturday)
1:30 PM 400 points, unrestricted*"War of Light"
(No theme team bonuses for this event)
There is a restriction: You must build a team where every member satisfies the prerequisites of a custom feat, as seen in this gallery. Nobody (except me) knows what the feats are, but you know the pre-reqs and the feat cost.
Think of the feats as a sort of "Alternate Team Ability" for your force, which is meant to be inspired by one of the colors of the 'emotional spectrum' as seen in the current Green Lantern Comics.
The costs and pre-reqs for the feats are:
The Red Lanterns
Pre-reqs: Monster or Brute keyword(s), OR Battle Fury (anywhere on dial)
Cost: 5 points per figure
Agent Orange
Pre-reqs: No other feats can be assigned to a member of your force.
Cost: 0 points per figure
The Sinestro Corps
Pre-reqs: Sinestro Corps or Manhunters keyword(s)
Cost: 4 points per figure
The Green Lantern Corps
Pre-Reqs: The Green Lantern Team Ability
Cost: 0 points per figure
The Blue Lanterns
Pre-Reqs: Blue Lantern Corps keyword OR Support (anywhere on dial) AND Point Value > 50
Cost: 5 points per figure
The Indigo Tribe
Pre-reqs: No power, ability, trait or feat that reduces damage dealt (anywhere on dial)
Cost: 5 points per figure
The Star Sapphires
Pre-reqs: Zamaron or Star Sapphires keyword(s) OR Incapacitate, Barrier AND Telekinesis (anywhere on dial)
Cost: 5 points per figure
If there is a particular character you think ought to qualify for a certain feat but does not, PM me. I have tried to balance the feats in terms of points and how well they will play against each other. There are a few oddball characters that qualify for multiple feats (LE Ultron could be both Blue and Red!) but such is life.
Participation prize will be a copy of the feat you choose. First place and fellowship(s) get to pick a second feat. If the event is well-received maybe we can run it semi-regularly up to the release of the new starter?

Reason: Added "anywhere on dial" to Blue and Indigo.
For the first event, every character must be on the same team (even if they may qualify for more than one ring); that team is the feat card you get at the start of the event. Future weeks will not require everyone qualify for the same corps, but if they do they can have their ring at the start of the event (if they don't already have it).
After the first event, everyone should have two 'rings' so for future events you can either build a team specifically to get a ring/feat at the start, or just wait until the end when everyone can claim another. (Anyone who joins late can always get a ring. Notice that "Agent Orange" doesn't have any pre-requisistes)
If the series goes well, we can run a 'Rise of Nekron' event at the end.
It should go without saying: the custom feats are only for special events
so do all characters need to be on the same team (all red lanterns) or do you mix them up?
To repeat (or perhaps clarify): For the first event every figure on the team has to qualify for a given feat. This is to represent a particular Corps being out and about and encountering other corps. Every figure on your force will have to pay for the feat you choose.
For future events (if we have them), you won't have to play all of a single corps.

Special rules follow:
If you didn't play last week, see this thread. Don't worry about "falling behind", you simply have to build a team in which everyone qualifies for one of the revealed ring colors. You get that feat at the start of the event. (or build a team without rings!)
Players can use any of the feats/rings they got last week. (Everyone got two), the only restriction is this: if you use a (ring) feat, every figure that qualifies for it has to pay for that feat (unless they qualify for a different "ring" that you are playing) and use it. You don't have to use rings if you don't want to.
Also, anyone who builds specifically for a certain ring can get that ring at the start of the event.
The prize will be another ring at the end of the event!
I want to make a special note: I set up special rules for Agent Orange for this week that I won't necessarily allow after 6-March-2010. It's a big benefit to the players who chose Agent Orange in week 1, but they deserve it for week 2!
Poor cam I felt bad. blue lanterns did hold together quite well. Next week I will have a trivia playoffs and might not b able to stay for the whole event I will keep u posted. The new feats are pretty cool!
We've played a "sealed" Blackest Night event, and this week is a "constructed" Blackest Night event (see above)...
...Here is what I have planed for the next week's event.
13 March 2010 (Saturday) 1:30pm Vault of Midnight
"Rise of the Black Lanterns"
600 points: Unrestricted (special rules apply)
Special rules:
No theme bonuses for this event.
The custom "Blackest Night" feats will be allowed.
Everyone needs to prepare a force such that they can make their team fit at or below 300 points, in case you are the Black Lanterns. (This means no 600 point figures. You can build a force with higher than 300 point figures, but you don't get to use them if you are the Black Lanterns)
After map roll, players roll off to decide who plays the Black Lanterns.
The Black Lanterns have a special feat RISE! (currently secret). The prerequisites for the feat will be suspended for this event, however the Black Lanterns cannot use other feats.
