Wasn't a younger version of Kang in the Young Avengers - as Iron Lad? Geez, this character's history has my head reeling. How many versions of Kang are there? No counting them, I am sure.

Yes to your first question.
Agree with your comment about his history.
There are at least 4 different versions of him(Iron Lad, Kang, Rama-Tut, Immortus). Plus, there are also versions from other timelines that have popped up.

Yep, there are hundreds of versions of him known as the Cross-Time Kangs, and the Earth-616 Kang recruited two of them and created the team Council of Kangs.

With Marvels rules for alternate continuity generation the are potentially an infinite amount of Kangs. Since Kang [ab]uses time travel he generates a new potential Kang(s) every time he tries a scheme.
They scratched the surface on this "possible Kangs" set of stories back in the 80's.

There's the Scarlet Centurion as well.
Kang was at the first one recorded to use that alias, I beleive.
Truth. Although technically after the "Avengers Forever" mini-series, Kang and Immortus are now two different people. Immortus is still Kang's future self, but they were separated, meaning that Kang's future is wide open and he won't become Immortus anymore. How Immortus just doesn't bleep out of existence now I'll never know.
On a side note, I'd love both a Rama-Tut and Scarlet Centurion click ( either the one as Kang or his son Marcus ) or a Scarlet Centurion representing Kang of the Squadron Supreme Earth ( where he never stopped being the Centurion ).

A few years ago, back before they made an Immortus, I did mods of Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, and Immortus and put them on the IC Kang dials, R, E, and V respectively. You can check them out by clicking the link below and going to the "Avengers and Their Foes" set.
I'm surprised Steve Englehart didn't make his Sise-Neg character another alternate Kang, or that no one since has said that he is.
My favorite Kang is Victor Timely, a Kang Alias where he leads a relatively simple life in the early 1900's. I think Timely goes on to create Timely Industries and teaches Phineas Horton how to make the original human torch!
Sometimes Kang makes me think of that song "I'm my own grandpa".

I loved that storyline. It was possibly my favorite Avengers story, where three Kangs get together and start killing all the others because they are idiots and an embarrassment to the Kang name.
