I was wondering if it's ok to equip a figure that has Pulse Wave with Elite Sniper (that figure must also have Super Senses or RCE, like vet Sinister Electro or M&M Zzzax), and then have that figure Pulse Wave or Nova Blast while in base contact with enemy figures.
Lemme know...
Ominous 8: Dr. Doom, Mysterio, M.O.D.O.K., Swarm, the Wizard, the Klaw, dire wraiths, Riptide.
Nothing mind-blowing. Electro is so fragile and front-loaded. I just saw how much nicer he would be for maneuverability in the midst of enemy figure bases (if he Running Shotted--is that a word?-- into a group as a flyer, he could move to the optimum square. As a grounded fig, he of course has to stop movement upon enemy contact, correct?).
But, the best part is, a feat that gave Flight would just be really neat, and open lots of possibilities for lots of other figures.

Infiltration could make this happen on a fig that had SC or stealth...don't know if that helps for any fig to be able to combine Nova blast and Elite Sniper...

or if they have the Avenger TA you can give them Pym Particals.
both really good ideas, except the only Avenger with Running Shot/Pulse Wave I can think of is Jack of Hearts--and no frontloaded super senses or RCE on him. hmmmm...
Not that good with Giant rules. What applies when they are adjacent to enemies, as far as ranged attacks?

giants can't make ranged attacks when based. Only sharpshooters can/collosals can.
they are talking about giants not having to stop when they step adjacent to an opposing figure, the same way that fliers don't.
but the only avenger with running shot and pulsewave is as noted above jack of hearts, who flies already anyway.
similarly while i found a few figures with pulsewave and shapechange at the same time (for infiltrate) none also had running shot/ supersenses at the same time.
its possible someone has exactly the right combination in special powers, but I doubt it.
You are likely just going to have to accept that pulsewave elite snipers are not ignoring figure bases for movement.
The character ignores other characters for movement purposes, but it must still break away as normal.
I don't think there are any characters with a Charge/Running Shot special power who also have Pulse Wave and qualify for Elite Sniper, but in theory this would work.
I would say that while Nova Blast/Pulse Wave could be used, it would have no effect on characters which are not adjacent to the attacker.

SHARPSHOOTER This character can make ranged combat attacks against adjacent opposing characters. When this character makes a ranged combat attack, it can ignore the effect of opposing characters on line of fire.

Wow. Yeah, now that you mention it, that's a pretty tough judge call. I think I'd rule that it would work like a normal Pulse Wave, but that could very well be ruled the other way.

Is it possible that The Sharpshooter would allow the Ranged combat action to take place against the adjacent figs, but then you would apply Pulse Wave rules as normal since pulse wave doesn't target other figs, it affects them.
Whoever designed Sharpshooter didn't use the word target in the description. If they did, you could not then use PW with ShSh because you would have to have a target. As it's written with the word against instead of targeting, you should be able to use it, but why would only adjacent figs be affected, if PW affects all figs within range in every direction?
I guess in this case trumps PW?
